Question about 2007 BMW X3 3.0si SAV

Open Question

BMW X3 Unlocks/disables Alarm itself.

My 2007 X3 is forever unlocking itself completely - including Alarm. Mirror LED not flashing when self unlocked. This happens after normal locking with the Key Remote, not sure if it will happen when manually locked with key at the door. Dealer is stumped after much troubleshooting and changing Drivers Door Lock, Recoding the Wireless Remote and latterly changing the Alarm Control Module. This unlocking happens intermittently, probably on average at least once per month, but in last 3 days it has happened twice. Car is found to be unlocked just as if unlocked and disarmed by Key Remote. After latest discussion with dealer I suspect an intermittent fault in the Remote WIreless Sensor, as yet not changed, but dealer and BMW still not coming up with this. Any thoughts please.

any thoughts if one of the keys is transmitting the code intermittantly or if the unlock button on one key is stuck in the down position?

does it usually happen when you just drove it with a certain key and doesn't happen with the other?

does it usually self unlock while at work or only happen when parked in the neighborhood?

and from what i gather, it once worked properly, then all of the sudden it started malfunctioning?

SOURCE: 2006 BMW 323i Passnger Door lock will not lock / unlock w/ remote

Replace fuse 57 (15 amp) then disconnect battery and wait 30 to 45 minutes before reconnecting the battery.

My 2006 BMW 325I had the same problem with the door locks not responding. I checked all related fuses and found #57 (15 amp) was the only related fuse blown. I put in a new fuse and it still would not work. I then disconnected the battery for a while then once I reconnected the battery everything worked fine.

I believe I blew the fuse while repeatedly pushing the unlock button rapidly while walking across the parking lock to the car. I suggest only pushing the unlock button only once or twice.

I need to disable my alarm on a 1997 bmw 528i.

Now im not sure since the manual says your model has the same alarm system as the 328i and on the 328i you can remove the module to disable by doing the following. you can unplug the control module. It is located under the glove box. Climb under the dash on the passenger side and remove a few screws on the trim panel under the glove box. Theres a black control module with a green connector. There should be a lock tab on the connector. press the lock tab and pull out the connector. The alarm should now be disabled. But if it has the special transponder key this may not work.
But if the only reason you want to disable it is because of the motion sensor setting of the alarm for no reason there is a solution for this. To disable the motion sensor, hit the lock button to arm, then hit lock button again within four seconds to disable motion sensor. Red light on rearview mirror should flash four times, then pause, then start flashing on regular intervals. this is most likely the reason if your having the issue where the alarm goes off every 20 minutes.
If you want to completely remove it below is a wiring diagram taken from the manual for you alarm system.

WINDOWS COME DOWN BY THENM SELF NO ALARM GOES OFF DOORS ALSO UNLOCKS

if you hold the key in the trunk or drivers door, to the unlocked position for a few seconds the doors will unlock and the windows will all go down. usually when this happens by its self the body controll module is to blame. it could be the electrics on the drivers door lock broke in the unlock possition. the door handel/lock is a nightmare to replace. i would get a used body controll module and plug it in and try that first

Lost keys require new locks for BMW X3

replacing the complete lock set with the EWS control unit can be expensive as the control unit will also need to be programed and/or encoded, however if the lost keys cannot be found and you are sure they cannot be used to steel you car you can just order replacement keys from your local bmw dealer. hope this is of some help. You will also nead to disable the lost keys if you order replacements rather than a complete set.
