Question about 2000 Chevrolet Astro
Also hesitates to shift out of first gear while accelerating
It could be the electronic shifter on the side of the transmission. on the driver's side of the trans there is a black box with two plugs going into it...the seal behind the box develops a leak which causes fluid to get on it...sometimes the fluid cause the box to short out and need replacing...if you decide to replace it order the plugs too...they are usually glued into the box and you have to break them or just cut the wires to get the shifter off. if you know someone with a good scan tool, they can check it...if its not bad then a rebuild is probably necessary....the center of the drum breaks and just spins inside it....so you probably need clutches bands and a couple hard parts
