Question about 1999 Ford Explorer

1999 ford explorer xlt noise

When i turn to the right it makes a like clickin noise .. its not a poppin noise but there is a noise there .. when i go straight it goes away ? could this be cv joint, wheel bearing> or possible somthing just hung under the bottom of this vechicle ???

    yea but only when i turn to the right when i turn left the sound is slight faint. but straight nothing .. if it is the cv joint on ford can that be replaced with out removing the axle ?

I'd go with CV joint, bearig would hum.. does the sound get faster as you drive (turn) faster ??

You need a NGS (Ford factory scan tool) They can access the RAP KEYCODE PID.

My 2002 ford explored xlt, right rear passanger window won't roll up? Makes a noise for a second. But if you press roll down it sounds like it is trying to. But it is stuck in the down position now....


You need a new window regulator. The cable broke.

sounds like a wiring issue. I'd start by checking the wires around the radio and see if they are chaffed or broken.

if it was me i would check the shock mount at the top to make sure they are in good shape and checkout the tires to make sure you do not have a bad one or two and also check the stabilizer bar to make the bushings are not bad

2005 ford explorer front end noise.


Try lubing any bushings with a silcone spay lube i have ran into this before and the bushing on the sway bar links get dry and make a squeeking noise.

If your car is losing power, then turning on the air conditioner will make it seem like you are losing more. The air conditioner uses a couple of horsepower. Take the car to Autozone and ask them to check for engine codes - I assume that the engine light is on? I think that it is an O2 sensor.
P.S. My opinion is that Ford Explorer is one of the best cars I have ever owned (I have had three). What I hear is that the Dodge is a much more problematic piece of machinery. Of course that is only my opinion.
