Question about 1992 Honda Accord
Blower stopped working for heat/defrost.
I had the same problem. Apparently all Hondas have the same problem around the same age depending on mileage and where you are locate (snowy area versus high heat area).
The solution is simple but not very easy - the blower fan must be replaced. If you have it done, expect to pay for several hours of labor. The part is approximately $130 depending on supplier. Be careful you do not go for the really cheap ones as they are Chinese and are prone to poor workmanship and fail easily. Spend the bucks and get a good one or one from Honda which will be much more than $130. I did the job myself and I am VERY handy with lots of tools. It is not something I would like to do again very soon! Half the dashboard has to be taken apart, the glove box removed, loads of bolts and screws from inside the dash which can only be accessed when laying upside down on the passenger floor. I ended up taking out the passenger seat to make things easier!
The first sign of this problem is a noisy heater/blower fan. It just means the bearings are starting to wear down. After that it is just a matter of time before the blower shafter starts to wobble so much that it seizes up. Voila, no heat, no air conditioning, no money after you get it fixed, lol!
Hope this helps.
