I was checking the tail lights fuses and when i put the fuses back i had no power to the engine at all but the alarm works and the door locks work and the cargo lights work and the break lights work, but when i try to power up the engine i sont get not even a click. I cant even put the truck in nutrual to move it! Oh yea and my power windows dont work either. I think this engine has a kill switch, what do you think? Oh one more thing i did buy a new batterie for it.

when you reply yes it is on, was that in reference to the theft light?? and if so was it just on, or on and flashing ??? If yes, do you have a remote starter ??

The theft light is do to your ignition key going faulty... if you have another key, try it. If not, your gonna have to bring your truck (via tow) to either a good locksmith or the dealer and have them re-programm your ign keys.. try a diff key first... sorry bro... (you gotta love these fords)

there is no fuse for that.. If your theft light is flashing while trying to start, the problem is with either your key or immobilizer.. you cn't fix this yourself unless you have a dealer scan tool... my answer was not inapproprite. It is what it is, it stinks, but it's a common problem.

With an assistant near the key switch, get under truck and, using a rubber mallet or block of wood, turn the key and strike the starter nearest the large solenoid (identified by a usually round cylinder about 2 inches in diameter and with at least one large and one small wire attached). The solenoid "piston" needs lubrication, but this will get you started for now, assuming you have tested all electrical connections to starter/battery

Starter fluid won't work if the starter won't turn the engine over.

Get the battery load tested...it may not have enough juice to start the truck but have enough to light up the lights

check your fuses and battery connections at the starter. Is the anti theft light flashing? If it is that's your problem. Wait 10 minutes insert the key...wait for the theft light to go out before trying to start.

if that doesn't work you will need to get the starter checked...which means you will have to take it off.

1966 Mustang won't start after sitting for 3 years - new battery

If engine wont turn over it wont do you any good to mess with the fuel filter or the carb. You didnt say if the car is an automatic or striaght stick if it is a automatic check the nutral switch on the transmission. car wont normally start if trasmission isnt in nutral or park. May want check the starter it may be drawing to much voltage
