2004 grand vitara will not start and solenoid will not click, Battery is fine.

Sounds like the ignition interlock at the transmission switch is out of adjustment or faulty. Bypass the key switch, at the starter, if it now cranks, it's in the interlock switch or the ignition switch.

Ignition timing for suzuki vitara

A LOT depends on WHICH ENGINE your 1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara is equipped with.Ignition timing is not adjustable on any engine except the 2.5L V-6.
To adjust the ignition timing on the 2.5L V-6, a scan tool must be used to turn off the computer timing control to check and adjust base ignition timing. Base ignition timing specification is 4-6 degrees BTDC.

Rear Brakes

Have just finished stripping the offending right rear side and reassembling.
The problem appears to have been the cam on the end of the handbrake lever.
Took it out, it is sprung and can be pushed back against the little stop bar. Reassembled with the cam right back and the tongue on the end at right angles through the relevant slot in the backing plate and lining. Slacken off the adjuster and refit the drum, removing and replacing after taking the adjustment up until you have a firm but not tight fit. Replace wheel and road test as I have just done for about 20 km forward and backwards. Seems to be perfect now. Can only wait and see if the problem recurs. Was only the one wheel, other one still as good as new. Hope this helps someone else.
