Seatbelt beeper from hell

Whenever I put my groceries on my passenger seat, the darn seatbelt warning beep goes off. Is there any way to make it stop doing that? It is a Toyota Matrix, 2007.

I tried to disconnect the sensor under the seat but it keeps the dashlight on as fault. Best thing I figured out is to get a seat belt buckle at the scrap yard for a few $$ and leave it in place or buckle the real car belt & buckle. Sorry. No miracle here...

You can normally unplug the sensor that is on the floor under the seat, either attached or close to seatbelt.

Dealers swear up and down that they can't reprogram your Occupancy Classification Module, or OCM. The best advice I've heard is to put groceries in the back, or be sure to buckle them up when they ride in the front. Hope this helps you. Thanks, TaterTodd

Want to disable seat belt beeper on 11 ford van

Easy, you can either pull the fuse for the warning sound ( If it's not powering other things) or you can do what I did. I used the buckle to force pieces of tinfoil into the seatbelt lock, a little at a time. It didn't affect the catch / release at all, in fact made it lock in place better. And made the sensor thinks the belt is always in so it never beeps.

fastening seat belts is not always the answer as some sensors need weight to cancel the light after the seatbelt is fastened. best have it checked out by an auto electrician as the seats may have been changed and the wiring not properly connected.

My automatic seatbelt doesnt work anymore. i have a 1990 accord lx 5-speed and it used to get stuck have way and know it wont recline at all. is it a bad fuse or the computer? i disconnected the seatbelt...

If both passengers and drivers side retractable belts have stopped moving, then it's likely the controller that's located under the passengers seat has gone bad. If only one side has stopped retracting and moving then that side motor has probably gone bad.

On my 91 civic all the seatbelts are fastened and the seatbelt light still flashs and the warning beeper is beeping how can i resolve this prob.?

My guess, the switch that is in the female end of the drivers side seat belt. The switch is bad or it's come unpluged or it's corroded. It's hard to get at without pulling the seat (four bolts and a harness plug). The plug for the seatbelt plug is usually under the carpet but if you pop off the plastic cover over the bolt that holds the female end of the belt to the car body there is usually enough slack in the wire to pull it up enough to see if the plug or wire is broken or corroded. If not, pull the bolt (it will be lock-tited in so it will come out hard). If the wire looks good, ground the lead wire (wire that goes to the drivers side female end of the setbelt). If the light goes out the switch in the female end of the belt is bad. If it still does,t go out, well I'd have to be there to troubleshoot it further.
Hope this helps.

Is there a passcode or sequence to disable the

As far as I know that seat belt warning chime and light is there for your safety and protection, it should not be bypassed in any way.
There is no by pass seqwuence or code to eliminate this safety device.
Buckle up, its the law.

After driving several miles my 2004 pacifica starts to beep - 3 beeps every 30 seconds and doesn't stop. No lights are on - engine or otherwise. Once I've stopped and the engine has been turned off for...

if you drive slowly does it not start? ensure you do not having anything resting on your passenger seat. if there is a weight sensor in the seat for the seatbelt warning the car assumes sombody is in the passenger seat. or the sensor is defective to isolate this plug the passenger seatbelt into its lock and see if the problem goes away. (when driving slowly this may not start. the alarm may be set to go of after a certain speed)

note: keep all clutter away from the driver position after cornering or breaking, debris may fall into the foot well and interfere with the pedal movement. or fall onto the driver.
