Question about 1999 Pontiac Firebird

Firebird run rough

My 1999 Pontiac firebird (6 cylinder) runs real rough. When you press the gas at a red light it takes off fine but when you go to pass someone it acts like the fuel injectors are clog. I thought a tune up would take care of this problem but it still presist. I took it to a mechanic and he said it was a knock sensor, but I have never heard of this sensor making it do the problem that I've had. I've checked the fuel filter, it's fine. Any clues to the problem. Possible distributor cap?

Most of the times is just an air leak from a vaccum hose. Also since the code its for only cylinder #6 I would suggest to take a look at the coil pack. They do go bad and it will affect your cat converter reading due to the fact that gas is not being burned on that cylinder.
I hope this helps!

My 1999 pontiac firebird wont let me pump any gas into it. It just spits the gas back out as I pump it, like its full. What should I do?

there is a venting hose that runs along the side of the filler tube. it would appear that has become blocked

1999 Firebird runs rough and bucks

Sounds like an O2 sensor at this point (which Firebirds are notorious for) however since you really didnt give us alot more detail than hard to stay running, it could really be several things. I really would eliminate all the multiple guessing and take it to a shop and have a dignostic run on it, it's worth the money to have them tell you in 15 minutes what is wrong verus shelling out money for parts that may not need replacing.

what were the compressions readings for each cylinder?
Please list and when you find a low cylinder put about a spoon full of engine oil in the spark plug hole and re do the compression test and send me that result also please.
