Question about 1994 Volvo 940

Brake light bulb failure warning light

I have a 1994 Volvo 940 turbo .Everytime I depress the brake pwdal the bulb failure warning light on the dash board comes on. However,I do have brake lights and the bulbs are matching wattage . What could cause this problem?

    Thanks for your prompt reply, but I just changed the front pads so Ill check the back ones to see of they're low.

    Rear brakes are good,I just changed front pads and my brake fluid is not low.Is there anything else I can check?

Brake fluid low, or brake pads need replacing.

    when you changed the front pads, did you crack the line to squeeze the piston back? air in line?

    may have to re-bleed the brakes...

lamp failure light on possible because the SECOND filament in your STOP/TAIL Light Bulb is burned out- change one side and check fail lamp again- repeat on other side- fail lamp works off of resistance-burned or blown bulb is only way it lights unless you have a wiring issue

my bulb light stays on i have replaced all the bulbs and fuses have replaced the brake switch now my top light come on when you switch the fog light switch on what else can be the problem

Sometimes the fuse looks good,but replace it anyway,that sensor in under your dash,its red and round.

behind fuse panel big red round relay and you can normally solder bad connection inside if you look close
