there may be a tank breather hole in the fuel cap if so make sure it is clear or drive the car with fuel cap slightly loose see if you get an air lock again

How can I eliminate an airlock problem in the diesel tank of a quantum? Every time i fill up there is a airlock?

check that the air bleed hose from the top of the tank up to the filler neck is not pinched ,squashed or blocked as it is apparently not letting the air to come out while the fuel is going in.

Whenever i fill my tank,my gauge doesn't go all the way to full,it ends @ 3quarters & apparently i have to open airlock to release air inside the tank. Please tell me where it's situated!

I had the same problem. What you need to do is under the driver's side rear is a black gas canister unit that is supposed to filter gas in the neck. There is a check valve that you need to remove and replace or you can use WD-40 to unstick it. That valve is in the closed position so when you try to fill up the tank, the tank gets pressurized. I cleaned mine and it needs it again. The valve is around $60. I think, but could be wrong. Hope this helps,,,

Ford fiesta diesel endura turn's over & try's

Normally, only 2 things stop a diesel from firing:
1. no fuel
2. not enough compression

No fuel can be caused by (obviously no fuel) or a failed fuel pump. To test, have someone turn the engine over and then sniff at the exhaust - does it smell of unburned diesel? (If you've run out of diesel recently, you may have an airlock in the system, this needs bleeding out.)

Not enough compression needs specialised equipment to test - that's a garage job.

Howto fix airlock in radiator

The generic method of bleeding air from the cooling system is to use a floor jack and raise the front of the car as high as poss, then fill the coolant recovery tank full and run the engine until it just starts to overheat, high end of normal zone on gauge, then shut the engine down and run cold water over the radiator core, this will self bleed the system and the coolant will be pulled from the recovery tank, repeat as necessary, never let the recovery tank run dry or more air will be pulled into the cooling system l , if it still overheats then you need to have the head gaskets checked with a gas analyzer for hydrocarbons present in the radiator or recovery tank

When you get some fuel you can unscrew the fuel filter and fill it with diesel. Then put the filter back on without spilling the fuel.

There should be enough diesel to prime the motor and get rid of the airlock. Also with diesels make sure you are using the correct tank if you have a tank switch.

90 ford escort 1.9 no fuel to the fuel injector, fuel pump works

Try adding some amount of carb cleaner to clear the nozzle of the injectors. If the sound of the engine improves, add more cleaner.

Another possibility is that air is trapped in the pipeline forming an airlock somewhere between the fuel tank & the pump. Bleed it free & then try it out.

Check the same line for any bloackage........................sodeep
