Is the car cranking and just wont fire? Or is it just lighting the dash? Was it a main dealer you visited? Any warning lights up ie engine management. ..

2007 pontiac g5 gt just had ignition replaced due to recall now 48 hours later it wont start. . battery fully charged

ignition replaced ???? Ignition switch , the electrical part or key lock cylinder and key ? left switch on 10 minutes ???? That won't work on your vehicle ! Light's lit on insturment cluster ? Car with padlock symbol ,check engine ,service engine soon etc.... The starting system on your vehicle is computer controlled as many fuctions are ! The ignition switch is a low voltage input to the BCM - body control module . Your best bet , take it back to the dealer .

Engine won't start after battery change.

When disconnecting your battery you need to hook up an alternative power supply . Vehicles with the electronics there have now a days . Something's need to be relearned an some of the modules may not wake back up at all , unless hooked up to a factory scan tool . Battery Disconnect or Replacement Problems

Why when I replaced my battery do my lights go up and down without the key being in ignition. I have to disconnect the battery to get them to stop.

I'm not sure which lights you're talking about(dash lights, etc)Did you by any chance replace the battery because something kept draining it when the vehicle was parked??If yes, this means you've got a short.

Theft security problem

Usually it means the computer is not accepting the chip in your key.
It can be the key, the sensor in the lock cylinder, or something in the security module or computer.
You might try another key or lock and unlock the driver's door with the key.

My VW golf TDi won't start since I changed my battery. It started fine for three days and now there is absolutely nothing there when I turn the key not even a click. Please help

1. Do all lights, accessories, central locking system etc in the car all operate normally.

2. Have you tested to see if the car starts when you try jump starting from another vehicle.

3. What warning lights were displaying on the vehicle a day or 2 before you had the problem.

4. Were you having the same starting problems with the old battery that you have just replaced.

Car has been driving beautifully. Would not start yesterday after only have been shut off for about 5 minutes. Gave her a jump and she ran great the rest of the day with many stops and starts made...

SOUNDS LIKE THE BATTERY IS SHOT AND NEEDS REPLACING. MOST BATTERIES AVERAGE BETWEEN 2-4 YRS. I'VE SEEN SOME BATTERIES ONLY LASTING A LITTLE MORE THAN A YEAR. DEPENDING ON HOW YOU USE THE VEHICLE, MATTERS HOW LONG A BATTERY CAN LAST. IF YOU SIT & IDLE THE VEHICLE WITH THE A/C ON,FAN AT HIGH SPEED, LIGHTS ON, STEREO RUNNING WILL SHORTEN LIFE CAUSE THERES NOT ENOUGH ALTERNATOR SPEED TO CHARGE THE BATTERY. REMEMBER, WHAT VOLTAGE IS CONSUMED BY THE VEHICLE, THE ALTERNATOR REPLACES THE VOLTAGE BACK INTO IT AND MAINTAIN. PROVIDING YOU DON'T HAVE A RED BATTERY WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH WHILE DRIVING, IT'S SAFE TO SAY THAT THE ALTERNATOR IS CHARGING. BUT YOU SHOULD HAVE THE CHARGING SYSTEM CHECKED ON YOUR CAR TO ENSURE PROPER OPERATION. GOOD LUCK.

Vehicle just shut down, no power locks, radio, horn, lights etc. Dead The vehicle just stopped running altogether. No electronics work. What is this?

Well the problem is you have a dead battery, or the connections to the battery came loose. I would check the battery and make sure all the connections are tight and you will need to charge the battery, you can either get a car battery charger or connect it to another car with jumper cables and charge it that way, however if your battery did die then it could be that the battery itself is bad, or the alternator is bad. to check, when the car is off and battery charged it should be around 12.4 to 12.6 volts, and when the vehicle is running (which you can check after you charge the battery) the alternator will jump the voltage up to 14-14.4 volts. If the battery is lower then it needs replaced, or if the alternator is lower after checking the battery, then you need to replace it.

If the car does not start after charging the battery then you will need to check your fuses.
