HMMMM thinking aloud here ,_-_--hmmm right have you run a hot wire from + on battery to the small terminal on the starter if so and it cranks then its either starter relay or the ignition switch ,but if starter turns ok with the hot wire then before you go any further try the spare key if still no joy with spare key then its electrical fault if it starts with teh spare key then your other key has lost its chip or been close to a mobile phone or TV screen and blanked the magnetic bar code .

It sounds like a fault in the starter circuit. It could be a defective neutral safety switch, starter solenoid, or possible a defective ignition switch but I doubt it. Can you hear the starter solenoid??? I'm willing to bet the problem is either with starter relay, neutral safety switch, or starter solenoid.

We have replaced the starter and the car still will not start. It will however start when you put a screw driver on the cylenoid (? spelling). Could this be the ignition switch? All fuses have been...

if it starts when you bridge solenoid means starter is okay
yournext check is to see are you getting power to the small wire that comes from ignition
put a metre on it and getsomeone to turn the key should get 12 volt or 24 what ever your system is
if no power there could be ignition switch or neutral switch fault good luck

CAnt get alarm off and can turn car on. Key won't start it help

forget the alarm bypass it. There is a way to defeat it but again lets just short cut it, go to the engine junction box there you will see a relay listed as starter relay open the cover using a small screw driver , get a assistant have them in the car able to turn the key on and step on thhe brake just in case the car starts in gear and runs you over. . here is the steps you have the relay cover out put it back in the socket have you assistant make sure the vehicle is in park not in any other gear or nuetral if its a stick shift. turn key on now you collapse the relay so it make contact and the starter will crank make sure key is on the engine will start make sure you have brake lights your good to go.
As for the permanant defeat those I do not answer so please dont ask

This sounds more like an ignition issue and not a starter or battery issue. When you turn the key if no power is being sent to the major components then that is a fault either in the wiring to the ignition system or the ignition system itself is bad and you need to replace the ignition

Won;t crank

Hi, if the car engine fails to crank, there is a fault in one of the components in the battery/ignition/starter circuit. Low battery (Check battery voltage, recharge if low, or jump start with another vehicle or battery charger). Bad starter relay/solenoid (Check for voltage at relay, if relay has voltage but there is no "click" when key is turned to start, replace relay). Bad ignition switch (Check to see if voltage reaches starter relay/solenoid when turn to start. If not, check for open P/N switch and brake or clutch pedal switch. Replace ignition switch if defective).

Truck wont start at the starter switch sometimes. I turn the key and nothing happens. I can go to the sylinoid (bad spelling) and start it with a screw driver

Probably a bad ignition key contact (worn out).
You can hook a pushbutton across the + to key wire terminal... the start it like an old fashened car (turn on the key and push the starter button....when the ignition contact fails to "make".
