SOURCE: 1995 Mercury Cougar Door Panel Removal

This nearly drove me crazy on our 1994 Cougar.
First remove the electric switch cover(window and mirror controls). Just pops out with a pry. Remove the harness attachments You will see a single screw into the door holding a bracket between door pad and door frame. Remove it.
Second, remove the door lamp plastic cover at the bottom rear of the door. You will find a second screw in there on the upper right corner. Remove it and you are ready. Pull the whole door pad upward and it comes right off. No popem plastic clips or anything else. Just 3 or 4 quarter circle retainers that pop over into the door when you push the pad back down

SOURCE: My ball joint poped in my 1994 Mercury Cougar, 2

If you can't do it yourself which is a good sized job, you will have to take it in and the cost for lower ball joints at a garage will run about $800 and up. If you can do it yourself it would cost around $60. You will have to take off:
2. Brakes and rotor and caliper
3. Tie rod end (use a fork tool to loosen)
4. unbolt bottom ball joint ( use fork tool to loosen parts)
5. Unbolt strut from wheel spindle
6. If you don't have a ball joint tool go to and Auto parts store and rent the tool to take the ball joint out.
7.Reverse the procedure when putting back together.
8. Sometimes it takes a little muscle to put them in if you don't have a press.
9. take your time and do it right. EST.. 4 hr plus if you never did it before.

Bmw transmission 525i transmission

The vibration is caused by worn driveshaft parts. The BMW driveshaft is flexible and has a rubber universal joint called a Guibo and a center support bearing that must be replaced when worn or old. The parts are about $100 (60 for the universal joint and about 35 for the support if you buy them from )and the labor is about $250 at a good independent repair shop.

What is a u joint and hue much is it to be fixed

A Universal Joint (u-joint) is the flexible piece at each end of your driveshaft. You want both ends replaced. It may cost around 150-200 to repair . Call a repair shop, they can give a quote as long as thats all you need, but most will want to see it first, because you may need more if there is driveshaft damage.

How to change lower ball joint on 95 mercury you have to take lower countrol arm off to get ball joint out?

i would replace the whole control arm because the bushing are probably worn out too and it's easier than pressing out the ball joints. make sure you have a spring compressor tool when you do this or you could get seriously injured

How do I replace the universal joints on a 1995 Chevrolet S-10?

On the driveshaft, there are 2 u-joints. Each one has 4 u-bolts holding it on. You will need a wrench to loosen each of the 8 bolts, you can do one joint at a time if you want; sometimes it's easier. once you have those removed, take the u-joint out, along with the end caps. Discard them. Put the new ones in just as you took the old ones out. Take care to keep the caps on, as any dirt inside can dramatically shorten their lives, and the roller bearings are a pain to put back in once they fall out.

Is there any "special" tool to replace the rear spark plugs on a '99 Cougar V6?

they make ratchet extension 'universal joints' but on many models its easier in the long run to remove the intake manifold to access plugs.

Universal joint needs to be replaced

If you have never done one it isn't real easy. You might want to remove your driveshaft and take it to a shop or a machine shop. If you remove the shaft they won't charge you much to install the joint. I can tell you how to change it with a vice, hammer and some kind of torch if you want to do it yourself.
