if you had it diagnosed and fixed all possible problems for it then the the check engine light has to be reset. You can try it manually by turning the key three or four times to the point just b 4 it starts. Then start it up. If that does not work take it to a shop and see if they can check the computer for any other possible problems (i know you can sign up for a pep boys rewards card free and they will check it for you. If all is well ask if they can reset it for you. Good luck.

My 1996 Nissan pickup's check engine light is on. I had it checked and was told that the O2 sensor was bad. I replaced the O2 sensor and the check engine light is still on.

Your light needs to be reset. It doesn't reset automatically. Autozone, Advance, etc parts stores can reset it for you free

this could be caused by several different things.check E.G.R.vave to make sure its not sticking.Check fuel system, start with testing fuel pressure then filter and pump check every vacuum line carefully to make sure there is no cracks or leaks.I assume your computer is not setting a code so that could possibly eliminate your MAF sensor.Let me know whats up and I will check back with you.If this does not work I have more answers.

Open circuit in o2 sensor from the ck eng codes 60000 miles on the trk never had a problem could this be cat w/bad function code

An open circuit code for an O2 sensor would not be a catalytic converter. An open cicuit code would normally indicate a faulty O2 sensor. 60,000 miles would be about right for this sensor to go bad, especially with all the additives in todays fuel. Hope this helps

No ck eng. lt, but have error codes on scanner

Yes. 1 is a bad O2 sensor and the other a mis-fire.

Best thing to do is a major tune up (replace plugs/wires/fuel filter/PCV valve/etc...) and also replace the Bad O2 sensor.

Running it like this can cause long term damage. Let alone you are losing gas milage as well.

Good luck.
