Question about 1994 Mazda 323
I would suspect a fuel hose problem or rusted
fuel line in back or possibly on top of fuel tank
Could be an Evap System leak if you have much
back there on a 1994 obd1 vehicle

Check oil for coolant X oil cross mix
Check cylinder compression
Check cap for a line of carbon (crack)/worn contacts
check rotor for work contact
Check loose screw on point/or module (bad ground)
Do a good look over for loose/ hanging/out of place items
