Check the gas cap too. If the vent is failing, you will be getting a vacuum effect in the gaas tank. For every pound of vacuum, you will lose a pound of fuel pump pressure.

Check the oil if you haven't already. If that makes no difference, change the tranny oil and filter. It can make a world of difference. Another thing it could be is your fuel filter. The engine is starving for gas, and can't shift properly.
