SOURCE: abs light comes on and off randomly

sounds like an intermittant fault in the ABS control valve, most likely one of the solenoid valves is sticking or out of self test range..

SOURCE: my break lights do not

Please check your brake switch on brake rod for malfunction. You can the power there by using DC voltmeter. Attach your DC voltmeter + lead to out going power cable while - lead to body. Now engage your brake, if there no voltage showing on your volt meter, your brake switch or incoming power fail and need to replace or repair.

SOURCE: i replaced the front breaks

the hard pedal and air leak sound indicates you have a fault in your vacuum booster. to me the booster itself sounds bad but the booster is powered by a large diameter vacuum hose, make sure it has no leaks at either end, and it connects to a one-way valve at the booster end and those valves can go bad. you have to separate the master cylinder from the booster, unbolt the booster from the inside and disconnect the brake pedal arm.

SOURCE: My GMC 1500 Front breaks are locking up

Hi:) Dirt and rust get on the sliders were the brake pads ride the rail at both ends of the pad and sometimes get jamed up and won't release Thuse locking up. Mechanics will use an antilocking grease in these area and should clean these area with a wire brush before doing so.

The overdrive will not work

is the switch working do you hear it clicking when pressed on off is the light on the dash or not is the check engine on or flashing you might have a transmission problem but before all this sometimes the wire breaks inside the shifter for the od switch so check the wire if not broken inside the shifter

5 speed trans stuck in 2nd gear, will not budge

Sometimes this is a problem with the shifter and not internal to the transmission. I am not totally familiar with every model of every car line. If the shifter can be disconnected, see if the shifter will work its pattern or if the shifter is jammed.
Sometimes the shift rods bind, the plastic guides break, or plastic bushings break and misalign the assembly of the shifter. Then it is just a matter of replacing the shifter unless individual components can be purchased to rebuild the shifter.
You should check your clutch assembly to see if the clutch is disengaging. Without a clutch you will be stuck in the gear you happen to be in.

Floor Model Shift Lever will not Shift back into gear, '01 Grand Prix, Automatic, 6 cyl.

Foot on break is the obvious fix, when you press the break pedal you should hear a noise near the shifter which is the switch that releases the shifter, this switch is fused off the break-light fuse I think. Or there maybe weight on the transmission jamming it in park or in gear, is it parked on a hill?
