I push the gas pedal on my 2004 CTS and it does not go what is the problem

Your caddy has Electronic throttle control ,drive by wire ! Do you know what this is ? You gas pedal ,if you look at it has wires connected to it .These wires hook up to the engine computer ,the engine computer has more wires that hook up to a dc electric motor under the hood on the throttle body which open an close the throttle plate ,which makes the vehicle go faster or slow down !

Check engine light, low engine power

You get a reduced power message ? Your vehicle has electronic throttle control or also known as drive by wire . Your gas pedal is electrically hooked to the PCM - engine computer . Has two position sensors inside as does the throttle body on the engine . Over time these position sensors wear an cause improper signals to the computer an the computer will put the vehicle into a limp mode . Most cases it will drive but only at about 20 mph . There are videos on youtube showing how this works , how to diagnose etc....
This P0449 is something different , has to do with the Evap. emissions .
DTC P0449 Evaporative Emission (EVAP) vent Solenoid Control Circuit . Planty of videos on youtube for GM trucks on this problem .
DTC P1516 Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) Module Throttle Actuator Position Performance
The predicted throttle position (TP) is compared to the actual throttle position. The two values should be within a calibrated range of each other. Both the powertrain control module (PCM) and the throttle actuator control (TAC) module redundantly monitor the predicted and actual throttle position. DTC P1516 sets if the PCM detects an out of range condition between the predicted and the actual throttle position.
Look's like you have three different problems , Thought p1516 an p1258 were going to point to same electronic throttle problem .

P1258
Engine Coolant Overtemperature - Protection Mode Active
PCM
DTC P1258

Circuit Description
The powertrain control module (PCM) uses the ECT sensor to monitor the engine for an over temperature condition. This condition occurs when the coolant temperature is above 132°C (270°F). When an over temperature condition is present, DTC P1258 will set. The PCM will disable two groups of four cylinders by turning OFF the fuel injectors. By switching between the 2 groups of cylinders, the PCM is able to reduce the temperature of the coolant.

Check the engine cooling fans for proper operation.
Are the engine cooling fans operative? Have you ever had the thermostat changed ? Is the coolant full ?

Check out youtube videos ! Just type your codes into the search bar .

What does it mean when code p1516 shows up on a06 chevy impala

There is a service bulletin on this for some Chevy trucks, may include your model of car. I would check with Chevy to be sure.
The code means the computer has received a reading from the throttle position sensor that is out of range and not what it should be.
The throttle actuator control module would need to be tested to proceed.

Engine won't start and shows trouble code P1516 and reduced engine power light is on

Here is the definition of the code.

Possible causes - Faulty Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) module
- Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) module harness is open or shorted
- Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) module circuit poor electrical connection (loose or broken wires)

P1516 CHEVROLET Description The Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) module contains data which is essential for proper TAC operation. The TAC module continuously test the integrity of this data. When the TAC module is unable to write or read data to and from Random Access Memory (RAM), or the TAC module is unable to correctly read data from the flash memory or and internal TAC module processor fault is detected and the Detected Trouble Code (DTC) is set.

The check engine light is on my 1995 Saab 900s. I can not find a techician with the correct scanner. How can I turn off the light?

There are three ways to reset a check engine light.

1. Disconnect the battery, wait approximately 30 minutes, reconnect the battery. This resets the cars computer which also reset the check engine light. On newer OBD (on-board diagnostic) compliant vehicles this usually does not work. See step 2.

2. Reset using an OBD II reader. When you hook an OBD II code reader up to your vehicle, you can reset the computer using the code reader.

3. Fixing the problem. Generally the check engine light comes on for a reason. Usually it is emission related (sensors, gas cap) or electrical (faulty wiring). In this case the way to reset the check engine light is to fix the problem
