Many cars and trucks do this.
I\'m going to give this a shot.
The emissions system on cars is there because of pollution.
One of the biggest polluters is gasoline vapors.
The reason for the vacuum is the car has been designed to suck the fumes from your gas tank and burn them, to slow down the pollution .
Most of the cars I maintain do this same thing.
You break that vacuum seal when you open your fuel cap, and when you close it, the system again tries to vacuum your fumes out of the tank.
Be Blessed.

SOURCE: Bust alternator for a diesel Grand Vitara 2005 2.0 TD RHW Peugeot engine

The cost of many of these units is quite high, compared to what they used to be. Still, the choice of new, reman, or even one from a boneyard is your choice!
Consider that a new unit is just that.eEverything including the case is new. A remanufactured unit is "iffy" and depends upon the quality standards or the manufacturer... Some only replace failed items, clean it up and let it fly... Better shops, replace not only failed items but items which are slightly worn or prone to failure. (a good rebuild includes brushes, regulator, end bearings, diodes and anything else they deem necessary) When buying a "boneyard" part, try to get one with low miles, preferably one that looks as if it was recently replaced, or one that was in the latest year vehicle that fits your application. As I said the choice is yours!!!
Good luck!

SOURCE: engine management light on ,suzuki grand vitara 2

Take the car to an autoparts store and have them scan the computer for any fault codes stored. The check engine light is to alert you that the computer has noted a fault in one of the car's systems. Getting the codes will show what the computer has noted and curb the need for speculation. Most parts stores will perform the scan for free. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Here is a site that should help. If I could hook my scanner up I could tell you in minutes if the O2 sensor was working by watching the data stream. the code means you are running lean on the #2 side. This can be caused by a vacuum leak or even a bad sensor. It has to be diagnosed. Read more in this site:

How to change 2000 fuel pump on dodge grand

disconnect all fuel lines, vacuum lines, electrical connections at the fuel tank. disconnect the fuel filler tube, then support the fuel tank as it will be heavy, unbolt the fuel tank straps and lower the fuel tank. clean the top of the tank so no dirt falls into the tank. undo the tank unit lock ring and remove the tank unit(fuel pump assembly).

Suzuki grand vitara three door, Why does the filler cap draw in air when removed on my 2010 vitara

Check for Evap System Codes

The fuel tank should most likely have about
1 or 2 lbs of pressure & only when the computer
runs a test, does the evap purge valve by the
engine open, to draw out fuel fumes to be burned
in the motor,so NO Vacuum or Pressure at the cap
when the car is off

I would guess the vent valve solenoid is a possible issue,
if you can not fill the tank without the pump nozzle kicking off,
or the fuel tank pressure valve is bad

Have to have ALL of the Evap System Components tested
& the system Smoke Tested

I do not know if any of those items can be controlled with a
scan tool, asian vehicles do not provide all the data features
as we have on say GM Ford & Chry

I have a 2000 nissan sentra and I drive it a while it shuts off seems almost like it's not getting fuel once it shuts off it won't start back up for ten min then it will turn over I changed fuel pump have...

When it shuts off and will not start, remove the gas filler cap and refit it then try starting it. If this fixes it replace the gas filler cap. They have a small pinhole vent in them that can get blocked. if so the engine draws fuel from the tank but there is no way for air to enter the tanks to replace it, there is a negative pressure in the tank and the fuel pump has to work harder to suck until it cannot do it. After a rest while, some air makes it into the tank and pressure normalizes so it can startup again. I knew an Audi 80 that did this and sucked so hard the tank crumpled up sort of like an implosion.

What would cause low fuel pressure

A bad fuel pump causes low fuel pressure.

Consider replacing it. It is located in the fuel tank beneath the back seat.

Good luck.
