If the car continues to run, sooner or later it will clear up.
It may take a week or two, depending on how much you drive.
The petrol has infiltrated your whole system.
If you have an option, I would take the car on a medium length trip, say 100 miles at a reasonable speed to try to clear the system.

You'll think I'm crazy but the gas cap may need replacing. They are vented. When they get stopped up, it throws a light and loses fuel pressure,
New gas cap...about $8.00.

I would check your intake gasket. Get your self ome carb cleaner in a spray form/can and perfrom this test. Run the car and spray the carb cleaner on your intake gasket which is right by your injectors. So pretty nuch spray it at the injector rail and listen fot change in idle, If the idle changes, the intake gasket is torn and you are running lean, because of a vaccum leak. Common problem on your model car. Perform test and let me know what you find.

if it is the same problem i had it feels like it is stuggling to **** up fuel, and then feels like it misses then goes again.
the problem with mine was that the plastic mount houlding down the fuel pump had broken, so the fuel pump and float level were floating around inside the tank. i tried gluing it back down, but the only thing that worked was slotting it back in and putting a screw down through the fuel pump case to stop it sliding around. the way to access the fuel tank is under the back seat. i would suggest attempting when there is low fuel and also a haynes manual will come in handy
