SOURCE: Engine management light
my car volvo s40 2000 had problem with engine managment light. I took it to the garage & they did dignostic check and the problem was(reset the camshaft valve)he gave me the part nomber and i put new part in ad problem solved.i do not know the name of part but this part is next to the spark plugs on right hand side, its got 4 bullts and the wire pluged in to it. It might be not problem with your car becaus macanic told me that this is not the common foult with s40, with yor car it may be sensor. good luck

the door ajar lights should be an easy fix... look inside the door jamb for a little pushbutton switch, its kinda like a refrigerator door light switch.. after you find it - push it in and let it pop back out by sliding finger off of it. Do this a couple dozen times (you are cleaning off the contacts inside the switch with the snapping action) then test with a closed door and car running! move on to the next door with this problem.
The Oil light is a totally different problem. with the engine cold and NOT running.. check the oil level and make sure its at its right level. Add oil if needed, if oil is not needed then suspect either the oil pressure sender is failing or the oil pump is failing (check oil pressure sender 1st as it is cheaper to get it fixed)
Hope i helped you out 8-)

there is a transitorized swith under passenger side dash right by the transmission hump there is a connector that goes into the duct work that is probable shorted out and supplies ground to one side of the blower motor. new part costs about $ 80

It is probably safe to drive, but is also likely to be running in 'limp-in' mode which, at minimum, will be burning more fuel. Take the car to Autozone or a similar business for a free scan of the computer. Take care of any problems that will be disclosed and then have them erase the light. Hope this helps!
