Isuzu KB 280DT pulls slightly to the left. Replaced ball joints, tie-rod ends, control arm bushes.

How do i check the drag link?

With the information given this is not a sure solution. Questions that need to be asked is when does this happen, turning at slow speedm high speed, when hitting a pot hole etc? Since you have replaced a lot of things already, assuming you have NEW good quality parts so you did not replace bad parts with new bad parts i would definitelu check the pitman arm. This runs from the stering gear to the tierod. It can give you some good clunks while steering, especially at low speed when there is a lot of resistance. Check it by having someone turning the steering wheel when watchin/feeling it.

I had this problem also. I had the rims cleaned, balanced the wheels and replaced the shocks. Each action helped a bit but replacing the shocks was the most improvement.

If it's a slight to moderate shake, it could be a tire balance/front end alignment issue.

Car shekes when hit bumps


Check for bad wheel balance, struts, lower ball joints ( no upper joints) , outer tie rod ends, inner tie rod ends, stabilizer bar bushings, lower control arm bushings , and finally a wheel alignment ,you have some bad looseness in one or more of these front end parts. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

Have replaced all tie rods; inner&outer;struts&upper mounts;sway bar bushings & links;lower control arms with ball joints& passenger side upper motor mount.none of these have changed this noise even s


What noise? And year and make of car?
A clicking noise on turns is a worn CV joint on the axle shafts. A grinding noise at one of the wheels could be a wheel bearing. Worn brake pads may cause squealing, screeching other high pitched noise.

Front tire wear on inside creating pockets and road noise. how much of the front end do i need to replace to achieve alignment?


You can't stop short with front end repair or your just throughing money away . But upper and lower ball joints are the biggest problem on this vehicle . The uppers are not bolted they used rivits to hold them to the frame and with antilock brakes the vehicle shakes from side to side and this loosens the rivets once there loose the front end can not be alinged So start with that ball joints the rest of the parts are heavy dudty

Steering is really loose. There is about 2 inches of play in the wheel, and it is all over the road when driving


You need to check your front end very close. Start by making sure the ball joints and all 4 tie rod ends are tight, zero movement by hand. Also check the pittman arm, off the steering box and the idler arm, from the frame on passenger side. They should not have any play. Work all the tie rod ends on the drag link, which hooks them together. Sometimes the holes in it will wear. The tie rods shouldn't move in it. Have a look at the control arm bushings. If they are squished out and noticably cracked then they need to be replaced. Check both the uppers and lowers.
If that all checks out then the problem is wear in the steering box and that does have some adjustment but not really enough to take 2" of play without making other problems. You'll have to replace it. Hope this helps.

We just bought a 2003 Alero, and wouldn't you know it make a loud clunk sound when we turn left, like pulling into a parking space. What could it be?


There are a few components that will cause a clunk such as yours.
Sway links and bushings, ball joint, strut mount, tie rod ends and lower control arm bushings.
If you recently purchased the car and it was checked over by a mechanic the most commonly missed item would be the control arm bushings.
I would suggest you take it to a front end specialist and have it looked over soon.

Check your Control arm bushings and or your ball joints. The bushings are known to wear out easily and the replacement control arm with ball joint included is only around $150.00. You can check the control arm by putting vehicle on jack stands and with a pry bar pry between the frame and control arm. If there is excessive movement then replacement is required, also when the car is in this position try to pivot your wheel top and bottom(in and out) and this checks the ball joint.

What is a drag link on a car? What are symptoms of it going bad?


drag link is the bar! between the tie rod ends and has connection to the pitman arm if it is bad the joint where it hooks to the steering box/ pitman arm will shake when you put your hand on it to move it
