Rear electric window problems for a 1987 chevy blazer

My rear window in my 1987 chevy blazer was working real slow, then i took the panel off the tailgate to oil up the gears for the track. i put it back together , it worked fine then 2 window roll down later it is stuck in the down position. a buddy told me it was the switch so i replaced it, still same problem. i checked the motor, it rolls down but doesnt turn to roll up. i thought it was the motor, but i hot wired it and it worked. some one else told me it could be a broken wire close to the switch on the dash. if any one has had this problem, any help would be gratefull. thanxs.

SOURCE: window wont roll up

Hi my name is Allen!

When the window falls down it is because the cable for the regulator and motor broke. The only fix is a new regulator/motor assembly from the dealership, or a good one from the junk yard if you can find one.

SOURCE: Power windows roll down slowly

You can try a dry lube or lithium grease on the slow ones, but it sounds more like you need new window motors. Unfortunately Saturns are plastic cars, and... The window motors are not too difficult to change and it requires removing the outer door panel to make it easier to access.

SOURCE: 1999 Jeep, Window is off track!

Look to see if you can see mounting holes for the glass you may have to reach in and wiggle the glass around if that does not work than the window regulator may need to be replaced

SOURCE: driver's window won't roll up all the way

If you have power windows it should be a broken cable, If its manual then it should be the crank asm. or the white plastic trac, it may torn at the end.

SOURCE: Window motor needs replacing

It may be your track, not the motor. You would have to take the interior door panel off to check. I would look at this first because the track is a less expensive part to purchase.

If windows are electric, check switch and replace if needed.
Check window motors wiring connections. If motors are bas, replace as needed.
If manual, window could be off track or cranking mechanism may be broken. Replace as needed.
If light fuses are good, replace bulbs to the lights.

Problems WithChevy TrailBlazers
ElectricalProblems
Some of the mostcommon problems with the TrailBlazer involve the vehicle's electrical systemand accessories. Many drivers have experienced problems with the dashboardgauges, including the fuel gauge, speedometer and "check engine"warning light. Additional electrical problems include power automatic doorlocks and windows that fail to work or operate intermittently. These problemscan be difficult to diagnose as they can result from anything from a faultybattery to problems with the wiring or other electrical components.

When too muchelectrical current is drawn through the fuse the bridge melts, breaking thecircuit. This feature prevents damage to electrical components and limits thepossibility of a fire. The Chevrolet Blazer utilizes small fuses to protect thevehicle's wiring harness from overload. These are typically plug-in blades, notthe glass-barrel fuses used in older vehicles.
Location The fuse panel ona Chevy Blazer is located on the driver's side of the firewall beneath thedashboard. Some later models may be equipped with a fuse panel cover. To removethe cover, pull the retaining clips loose on each side and lift the cover fromthe panel. Replacing a Fuse Locatethe fuse you believe is burned out by its label or use the owner's manual as aguide. To remove the fuse, you may need needle-nose pliers; don't put too muchpressure on the fuse or you could crack the casing. Examine the thin metalstrip between the two terminals. If it is broken, scorched or deformed, it mustbe replaced. Read more: Fuse Box Instructions for a Chevy Blazer ' eHow.com

I have an electric rear window in my tailgate that won't go back.

Yes you can unbolt it from the regulator that it rides on. You should see a couple of bolts holding it in place unbolt it and pull it out so you can work on everything and then put back in.

How can i repair the rear window. sound like the motor works

Sounds like a gear is stiped on the window motor. Door panel will have to be removed to fix. Your local auto parts store should have a kit to repair it and instructions on how to do it.
