Hi there i have a 2006 ford focus and it keeps juddering when in third gear.iv had new leads n coil pack fitted recently.im wondering if it may be dirty fuel injectors.can you help!

Is the check engine light on? Read codes if possible. If it runs well and up to redline in 1st and 2nd, I doubt fuel injectors are the issue. Test fuel pressure and for clogged exhaust.

How do I change the coil pack in my 2005 ford taurus

Welcome to Fixya.

Here's the procedure how to replace the ignition coil pack of your car.

•1
Understand basic safety procedures. Any time you work on your Ford Focus, you should set the emergency brake and disconnect the negative, or ground, cable from the battery. Some mechanics recommend you isolate the cable to prevent accidental contact, which could spark a connection.
•2
Release the spark plug wires from the Ford Focus ignition coil pack. You may need to pinch or press a release to unlock the wires.
•3
Use a socket set or a small wrench to unbolt the ignition coil connectors. You also need to undo the capacitor electrical connectors. As you work, make note of which connectors go where--this pays off you when you reassemble the parts.
•4
Locate the bracket that holds the ignition coil pack and the electrical capacitor in place. Undo the fasteners that secure them.
•5
Separate the Ford Focus ignition coil pack from the mounting system. Replace the old Focus ignition coil pack with a new one. Verify the new ignition coil pack works with your engine, even if you use a universal ignition coil pack.
•6
Reassemble the parts. If you have a Torque wrench, use it to tighten the ignition coil bolts with 7 inch pounds of torque (10 Nm).

Thank you for using Fixya!

Hi,i really hope someone can help?? ive got a 2001 ford mondeo 2.0i,......now ive got a misfire on 1 and 3.....now ive put a new coil pack on with new leads and spark plugs and its still the same....ive...

The problem could be in the injection control module. This can be checked by what they call a noid light that can be purchased at a parts house, plug it into the injector pigtail start the car and see if the noid light comes on when it is supposed to fire on that injector if does not then the control module is going bad.

I have a ford focus 2002 and one of 4 cylinders is not working .

hi jerry here, ive had the same problem where one of the 4 cylinders was missing problem was the coil pack, costs about 70euro to replace, to finde out if is it theres gone simply--- remove one spak lead(ht lead) at a time and listen for a change in engin sound then put it back on till you find the one therse gone test them one by one from the coil pack(disttributor) if its the coil pack you wont here the spark jump from the lead to the pack

Engine missing, car jerking and juddering

you might have a bad plug wire it doesn't have to be loose you could have a hole or cut in the wire and it's not getting a good spark to the cylinder. the radio interferance tells me this might really be the problem

it sounds like a problem with the coil pack or plug leads its a very common problem with them . I would suggest you replace both coil pack and plug leads at same time.
