Heater fan won't work. had motor checked, it is good

Checked fuses, there is no marking to tell if it is for the heater motor

I just replaced the blower motor switch (the dashboard knob). The old one had a lot of brown grease in it.

All I have it "High" and "Off." A couple of years ago, I tried switching the cube-shaped fuse or "relay" on the fuse box and this did not change anything.

It could be two things that i can think of.
first and easiest to check is there is a 2 wire connector at the lower corner of the interior fuse box. sometimes it gets burnt because of poor connection. turn the blower on and wiggle the wires when you find them the are fairly large wires.
i think one is red.
other than that the blower resistors go bad but the normally work on high. the blower swith could be burnt?

Find the fuse box and look for heater fan fuse to see if burnt out

The blower fuse is a 25amp marked #7. Check your owners manual for details.
The fuse could be blown, but the motor could also be full of ice.

1983 Chevrolet C10 Silverado: The AC compressor and heater blower motor fan will not come on.

The brown wire at the speed switch is the power wire. Powers is then directed to the blower motor resistor throught the orange, lt blue and yellows wires. The blower motor receives power through the orange wire. Check for power at the fuse with the key on. If there is no power the problem could be the ignition switch or the wiring in between the switch and the fuse block

Can anyone tell me why the heater fan just stopped working? the controller is good and the fan motor is also good . Is there some type of relay some where I am missing. Need help Thanks

the thing that the fan plugs into called the blower resistor. check that
The fuse boxes will have a fuse and a relay. Your owners manual will tell you your locations for each.

Heater does not work

Check heater fuse.
If fuse good - could be a failure of the blower fan motor or blower control switch.
If fuse bad - bad blower fan motor could have blown the fuse.
DO: check fuse, then blower motor.
Pricing: new blower motor: Duralast PM270 $43.99
new heater control switch: Duralast SW229 $46.99 (without
A/C).
I'd expect your blower resistor to be good - when they fail, the blower only will work on HIGH setting.

I have a 1986 f150 and the heater fan does not work. Figured it was either fuse problem or fan motor is bad. Would like to check fuse but i have no diagram for the fuse box and no owners manual

I had this same truck but don't remember which fuse right off hand. The heater motor uses one of the heaviest fuses in the box though. Start checking your biggest amperage fuses and work down from there. If the fuses are good and if you can locate the motor leads you might be able to bypass the fuse box by connecting it to a battery or jump box. This will tell you if the motor is good. Don't let the motor run without the fuse though. See if it turns and IMMEDIATELY disconnect it from the battery/jump box. We're only seeing if we can get a reaction. The motor only needs to come on. Don't let it STAY on. Don't run your heater without the fan. It can destroy the heater coil and that's bad news.

Ford explorer heater fan not working

If this occurs in all positions, check fuse, check for power at the fan motor, if power in all positions replace motor. if no power at fan and fuse is good, check blower motor resistor and blower motor control switch. Replace as required

Heater fan not working in 05 Chevy Equinox

I suspect you also checked the fuses, some vehicles are double protected, especially since you usually have to remove the entire dash panel to get to the heater fan blower motor. It should be in the middle or under the glove box, should be located in a plastic box that has like a bell shape to where the motor is. check fuses then check wiring, and make absolutely certain the relay was the correct one that you changed, in a 3 year old vehicle the fan motor should not be bad yet.
