This is a very common Problem with Chevy Trucks. On my 95' Silverado, I had to Replace 5 Wiper Motors before She found one that she Liked. Even the Newer Trucks are Having the Same Problem with the Motors. Just Replace the Old one and get the Warranty with the New one. Please Rate my Response, I need all the Help That I can Get! Thanks!

One of my winsheld wipers stopped working

There is probably a round cap at the base of the wiper arm. Pop it off with a small screwdriver. Check the nut and make sure it is tight-most common cause of this problem is a loose nut for the arm.

Is there a procedure to check the wiper motor on 1991 S10 pickup (only 42000 miles), to be sure it is defective and not a wiring problem?

ONLY PROCEDURE FOR WIPER MOTOR IS YOU HAVE 2 SPEEDS THAT WORK SLOW AND FAST SPEED.WIPERS WILL RETRACT TO THE BOTTOM OF HOOD LINE WHEN YOU TURN OFF. WIPERS SHOULD TURN OFF. CHECK WIPER RESERVOIR MAKE SURE ITS FULL AND WIPER WASHER SPRAY FLUID CLEAN WINDSHIELD. IF WIPER MOTOR DO ALL THE ABOVE THEN ITS OKAY.IF WIPER MOTOR WORKS SLOW LOOK FOR BINDING AT WIPER ARM LINKAGE AND PIVOT LUBRICATE LINKAGE AND PIVOT COULD HELP.IF WIPER MOTOR DONT WORK CHECK FOR POOR GROUND OR BLOWED FUSE.WIPER WORK AT ONE SPEED CONTROL SWITCH IS BAD.IF WIPER BLADES STOP WHERE EVER THEY ARE OR FAIL TO TURN OFF UNLESS YOU TURN OFF IGNITION SWITCH WIPER MOTOR LIMIT SWITCH BROKEN.IF WIPERS DONT RETRACT BELOW BOTTOM HOOD LINE LOOK FOR MECHANICAL OBSTRUCTION OR WIPER MOTOR FAULTY.

1984 S10 wiper arms

No Problem! Look down on the Bottom of the Wiper Arm, wher it attaches and Swivels. There is a Small tab that comes off of the Upper Part of the Arm that looks like Two Front Teeth Sticking up just a Little. Take a Pair of Pliers and Pull this Tab Up Towards the Top of the Winshield to Release the Lock on the Arm. then take a Pair of Pliers with Tape on them so that you will not Scratch the Arm and Pull while you Wiggle the Arm right at the Swivel Pont and they will Come off. Wipers travel to far past winsheld

You may have had the wrong size wiper arm and/or blade recently installed. They can be different from side to side. Please check the correct wiper blade length with a part finder at your local parts store.
