It comes from the transmission range sensor. When you put the lever in reverse the sensor on the transmission relays this to the backup lights.

Hi ive got a jaguar s type 2.7d and having problem with parking sensors, would you know anything about them?

Check the sensors , you still might have bad one in the group which will effect the full function of the sensors.

If sensors are good , then you need to check the position of the sensors and set up correctly as if one of the sensors is out of alignment , it will cause this problem.

If not , the you need to check the electrical wiring for the sensors

Reversing sensor continually beeps when in reverse

The sensors are sensing the tow bar, either remove it or disable the back up sensors.

I installed the parking sensors yeaterday and now they continue to beep after I put them in reverse. I did the test where you turn on the ignition but not start the car and then put the lever in reverse....

hello i would like to help but can you give me information on the sensor kit you installed. some systems to beep and some only beep when the sensors detect something. also if they work fine with out the engine running but then don't work properly when the engine is run this could be there is to muck voltage for the sensors, some sensor kits are saying they are 12v, this is correct 12 volts, but the charging system on most vehicles are 14 volts, so you may have to fit a regulator to the feed wires to the sensor. you would need a 12 volt regulator board. this will stop any power going over the 12 volts to the device.

In a ford focus 2005 LX - can you turn off the reverse parking sensors - if so how?

follow the wires back from the sensors and you will find that they go into one connector for the reversing lights, just disconnect(or fit an inline switch) to disable........(why?).

Troubleshooting oem code mitsubishi 2005

P0736 means "Reverse incorrect gear ratio". I would take it to a transmission shop for complete diagnosis.

Did you check the fluid level in transmission? If you need to add, don't overfill.
The P0736 code may well mean a clutch problem inside the trans that requires "rebuild". But also with this particular code there is the possibility of it being a faulty turbine speed sensor or output speed sensor. But against that is the fact that the same clutch is used for both low and reverse gears. Actually you are now in 'limp in' mode which uses only 2nd gear as that requires the least parts and is protective against further damage. A fairly simple test can ascertain whether the clutch is indeed bad but that should be done at a shop that has the test tool to measure the input/output sensors. Alternatively, you could buy and replace the turbine sensor (assuming that the output sensor is OK, see below) and if that doesn't change things it pretty much dictates a need for rebuild.

My suspicion is that the low/reverse clutch is out and so will need a rebuild. You might find out the cost of the sensor, but it in yourself and see if that corrects things. Or you might find the labor cost of the differential diagnosis of clutch as compared to sensor failure, and then decide which way to spend the money. If the speedometer seems to be reading accurately that would pretty much dismiss the possibility of the output sensor being faulty

Reversing lights not work

sounds like it could just be the reverse sensor located on the acctual gearbox under bonnet, you can tell which one it is as it is one of possible two.
