Drivers window off track

During ice storm drivers window came off track and now I cannot get it to go up. I hear the motor but I think the window came off the track. Can I take the panel off and get it back on the track without to much trouble. Is it difficult to get to the window? Thanks so much, Victoria

More likely because the window was frozen you have a brocken gear or belt that is a part of the regulator.if you take the pannel off and operate the motor you should be able to find out and put it back on track.i hope it helped.

Hi! U did mentioned that the window came off track but u did not mentioned if it was placed back on track. For if it don't the glass could stock and prevented from moving. This could cause the motor to burnt.

Your window is probably still on track but the window regulator is shot and will need to be replaced if the glass moves freely and the motor spins without moving the glass.

The window may have come of the track, if you can hear the motor, it's probably fine. If the window moves around freely, it's most likely of track.

Rear driver side window i believe came off the track, i can here the motor spining but the window does not go down is this a easy fix i can do myself.it recently happen after the big snow storm..

Very common problem - especially when the windows are operated with snow and ice on them. Your window regulator is probably broken. There is no cheap fix. The last time I had a broken regulator in a Mitsubishi, The part was only available at the dealer. Most of the aftermarket places stock the motor but not the regulator. The regulator from the dealer will come with a new motor on it. When I replace a regulator on a car that has a good motor, I usually give the old motor back to my customers so they can use it in the event that one of the motors should fail.

Drivers electric window wont roll up it goes down real slow but wont go up past halfway. Its real slow going down and before this it would go slow and roll outside of track at top

Window regulator and motor assembly will need replaced. Common problem. You've seen other people with it at the drive thru ATM and pick up windows - getting out of there car to get items!! LOL! Seriously have an experienced mech. look into it. Having this thing not work will be a real pain especially if it dies during a rain storm. Good luck

325Ci Coupe Driver Window stuck in down position. There is a clicking noise when i attempt to roll up the window

E46's are known to have issues with their window regulators (motors), though if you're hearing a clicking noise I would think it's not the motor but perhaps the window itself off the track.

It may seem freaky, but it's quite easy to take off the panel at your window and investigate.

Here's a link to a DIY (Do it yourself) guide on how to open the panel. It's a guide to replace the regulator, but it also shows step-by-step how to take off the panel so you can look at the track. http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=356847
