Question about 1994 Isuzu Rodeo

1994 Rodeo 3.2L V-6. New Computer System,New ECM,plus and wires.

New fuel pump and filter. New exhaust plus new water pump. Afetr two days of driving it just stopped as if it were out of gas. Will not start but turns over. Two weeks in the shop trying to figure out. Getting spark and also getting fuel from fuel pump. Any Ideas???? Timing belt was changed. has 193,000 but was running great.

Put a timing light on it with an induction pick up sensor and aheck its firing at the right time in case chip has packed up in the ECU ,little tip i picked up the hard way as had a similar prob with a ford escort and it was the ECU not spacing out the timing properly,dealer wanted lots of dosh for a new one so i fitted the whole lot from an accident damaged one ,chip from key pcb and ecu 50€ had me going it did big time trying to fathom it out when i went back to basics ---**** squeeze bang blow .Your missing something simple honest.has plastic pipe split on end of common rail ,the vac units allows the gas to pass through.

Hi! I think u should rechecked your timing. For u r getting fuel and spark which are most important for starting.

DTC P0171 probable cause:
1. Wire harness problem. Check for correct voltage, opne, short toground, short to voltage
2. Fuel pressure problem. Check pump, regulator, filter and lines
3. Exhaust leaks or restrictions
4. Vacuum hoses. Leaks or incorrect routing
5. Contaminated fuel
6. Sensor improperly installed

DTC P0174 probable cause:
1. Faulty sensor or solenoid

I have a 1992 Pontiac Sunbird that will not start


Needs to have at least 3o lbs of fuel pressure,may need to rent
a gauge from your local parts house.
Plus make sure all the ground wires are attached (bell housing
bolt is where the ECM ground is,I think)

1991 Buick Ragal Custom 3.1 starts, then stalls immediately.


You need the exhaust converter so the O2 sensor can
work properly

It sounds as though the converter is blocked,as well
as the fuel trim, if that is correct term for an OBD1 System,
is not able to report back the oxygen in the failed converter

So the ecm can not provide the correct fuel mixture by
pulsing the injectors

I would also expect the timing chain to have a lot of slop
& possibly be off a couple teeth, from worm plastic gear
on cam

  3. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
  4. This series of S10 is notorious for cracking the original circuit board (often called a "half board") of the ECM unit, which is found behind the glove box. A cracked "half board" can cause a wide variety of intermittent drive-ability problems. It took GM's Powertrain engineers a long time to ID this pesky problem, shortly after this ECM was introduced. If you can not find another cause, a new ECM is your likely fix.

Hi. Last August I purchased a 1999 Dodge Caravan with a 3.8 front wheel drive. As of the past few months I have had problems starting it. In the morning it engine cranks hard for about 3 seconds before...


This sounds like an engine temperature, or ambient air temperature, sensor problem.
On a cold start, the computer is supposed to deliver a little more fuel through the injectors, and it sounds like it isn't doing that. When the engine is warm, the computer is supposed to acknowledge that, and adjust the fuel delivery accordingly, but, instead, it is delivering too much fuel, slightly flooding the engine. Hence the hard start, and gas smell.

Have your mechanic check ALL the relevant Engine Temperature Sensors, and All the sensors related to incoming air temperature, and Mass Air Flow, and their related wiring.

No fuel to the rail. New pump,filter,control module over radiator(2).checked inertia switch. if wire to inertia switch is same color code as wire leaving ECM then no power leaves ECM when switch is...


It helps if you tell what year,model, engine you are working on. Is power at the Inertia Switch? The power comes from the FUEL PUMP RELAY, the ECM only grounds the relay to turn it on. but not knowing what you are working on, thats all the info I have .

Underhood fuse block swap out relay #7 thats the ECM relay.
Ground Circuits Using a DVOM, touch negative voltmeter lead to a good ground. Touch positive voltmeter lead to each ground terminal. With vehicle running, voltmeter should indicate less than one volt. If reading is greater than one volt, check for open, corrosion and loose connection on ground lead. See ECM GROUND LOCATION table for ECM ground location.

My 01 F250 superduty 7.3L will not go faster than 60MPH. what would cause this?


a number of things,1. fuel restriction, (blocked lines filter etc).2. exhaust restriction, ( catalytic convertor blocked) 3, binding brakes, 4. slipping transmission, 5.contaminated fuel, 6. restricted air filter 7.fuel system fault,( pump,injectors,ecm, egr valve.)

I HAVE A 2001 DIESEL HOLDEN RODEO, AND A SMALL AMOUNT OF AIR IS GETTING INTO THE FUEL SYSTEM, EVERY DAY I HAVE TO PUMP THE PRIMER PUMP, TO EXPELL THE AIR BACK TO THE FUEL TANK, IF I DONT DO THIS IT BUILDS...


have seen new fuel filters not seal properly, due to warpage of seal flange gets bent when removing old over tight filters, check both filter & water trap, also bleed bolts on filter housing, use clear plastic hose between components to find where air ingress is coming from
