2003 Chevy Trailblazer Cannot seperate differential from oilpan is there a trick?

You have to remove the oil pan first - the diff stays up in the body until you remove the pan, then the diff comes out.

There's a big dent in my oil pan; it's not giving me an accurate reading on the stick. The stick says that it is over full by a quart when actually it is a quart low. and the pan also appears to leak. I...

I'm not sure the year and make of this car, but if its a newrer buick then its not to hrad to replace the oil pan, jack the front of car up and support it with jack stands, then remove the oil from pan. remove the bolts holding the pan, pan should drop down, you may have to tilt back and wiggle out, also you may have to drop the pump or pickup screen depending on how much room is needed to remove the pan.

My transmision fluid is black and two transmision mechanics say if you change transmision fluid the car wont run no more is this true sombody please help me they are saying im going to need a new...

The mechanics lied to you. Changing the transmission fluid and screen will not cause any car not to run. Just as you need to periodically change the oil, the same holds true for transmission fluid. Though the fluid is black, yoou state that you have no slippage or nothing out of the ordinary. If that is the case, then you do not need a new transmission. Just have the fluid and screen replaced and all will be fine. Make sure to pick up a transmission pan gasket while you get the necessary fluid and screen. Again, changing the fluid will not cause any car to not run. It is safe to perform the fluid change.

You'll have to take the oil pan off. First drain the oil though. Once the pan is off the oil pump and screen wlill be attatch with a couple of bolts. The the new pump wont come with a new pick up screen. Twist the shaft with your hand to get get it apart. Install it on the the new screen on the pump in the same direction as it come off or it wont set down into the pan. make sure you use a new gasket. Three hours and your done.

Maxima wont come out of 1st gear

Is it automatic or manual? And you have to pull the transmission pan not the motor oil pan. I'm not saying you did, but just letting you know. Tell me if you find anything. Mike.

Oil pressure wont stay up in my 3.1 V6

the pump filter screen is probably partly stopped up. when did you last change the filter itself?
on the pump, there is a filter screen (not the filter) that is used to keep large items from getting sucked into the pump which is located on the of the engine submerged into the oil in the oil pan.
the oinly way i know to unclog it without removing the oil pan to access the screen, would be to drop the pan low enough to get to the screen with an air line to try and blow the trash off.
it may be possible to use a reversing drill motor to run the pump backwards to try to clear the screen, but i'm not sure if that is possible on your vehicle.
someone else may have another solution.
one other thing may also cause the low pressure drop. that is the oil viscosity. what oil are you using? 30w doesn't have the same viscosity as 50w. also, 5w30 and 10w40 have varied viscosity from high to low depending on engine temperature. high viscosity is thinner for higher temps, low viscosity is thicker for lower engine temps. the oil you use may need to be of a higher viscosity if you live in a cooler climate, and lower if in a warmer climate.
