Codes are 2 O2 sensors and evap small leak detected. My volt ohm meter has a broken wire and my soldering iron is lost in packing from a recent move so I couldn't check the coolant temp sensor. Even though there was not a fault code for it I replaced it anyway. Only 10 bucks. Still have the problem.

The days of using OHM is long past Today everything is about checking ground side & voltage drops on wiring side. Front or upstream O2 sensors are only good for about 100,000 miles & the only good way to test them I found is with a scope you won't have. Switching time is of more value then voltage if they function at all Today unfortunately for you a professional scanner or sofeware is what is used verse a meter to look at data, that said sure you component test before repplace a part. Still have what problem? Evap Leak have to be smoke tested & the solenoids actuated with the scanner or powered by hand unless it is just a hose leak

Why would you tell anyone that?

Check for codes

You know the check light is on & is where you start

There is no resetting a check light
All your doing is clearing all data needed to diagnose
any issues

SOURCE: rough idle after warm up

I'd take a look at the temp sender...the engines computer may be "thinking" the engine is still cold when it's not. That would cause it run rich (and rough) after it's warmed up. Generally the sender can be tested with an ordinary volt/ohmeter but you will need the specifications available in most inexpensive manuals. As with any complicated electronics system, I can only give you my best guess, without the luxury of doing any hands-on testing myself.
Good Luck!!

SOURCE: check engine light is on, motor runs rough, sometimes stalls

Go to Advance or Auto Zone and have them run an obd scan on it and it will pin point why your light is on and could solve your problem. This is often done for free.

SOURCE: Chevy truck running rough 150,000 miles

Find out why the engine light is coming on, it is the info u probably need to fix the running rough problem. Most auto parts stores will read the codes stored in your trucks computer for free, write them down, and ask what they mean and how to correct the problem. If u need more info, return to this site w/ codes for further help.

SOURCE: 2004 subaru forester, 99,000 miles. Check engine

Drop in to an Autozone, or Pep Boys, or similar big parts store & they will usually scan for codes free. This will hopefully eliminate all the guess work, or at least point everyone in right direction for better diagnosis. If not obvious from codes what the problem is, get back to us and we'll help you out.

Mitsubishi Mighty Max has 170,000 miles on it and maintenance light came on and will not go off

Yes, unplug the battery for 30 seconds, and the ECU will reset. If the light comes on again, get the error code read to see what the ECU thinks is the problem. At 170,000 miles, this is likely burning oil causing a misfire, might be the engine temp sensor wires are broken (causes hard starts when cold), might just be low power steering oil or even worn brake pads causing a low brake fluid level.

2001 Toyota Tacoma flashing Check Engine Light and misfire...oil light will come on as well after running for a bit.

Have you tried replacing the plug wires? Change your oil and filter your filter may be plugging up and causing your oil pressure to drop.

I have a 1994 Firebird 3.4 that runs rough intermittently when warm.

I can't imagine anything being affected by changing the oil other than the valves in the heads. I assume you have good oil pressure hot or cold. I suppose you could be moving a wiring harness around when you take the oil filter off.
It would depend on if the rough running is mechanical or fuel or ignition related to say what to check first. I would have to figure out which area is affected first.
Something like a sensor or a dead miss on one cylinder could turn the check engine light on, but most fuel and mechanical issues will not do it on a car of that year.
If one of the coils was failing when the engine is hot, changing the oil should have no effect.
