Question about 2001 Chrysler Town & Country

2001 Town & Country gas mileage has dropped a bit

Where is the emissions cannister located on a 2001 Town & Country? Gas mileage has dropped a little and I don't think the cannister filters have ever been changed.

Its located under the body of the van on the drivers side.. changing anything on it will not improve the mileage..may be time for a tune up.. induction service or air and fuel filters.. keep in mind that winter furl gives lower mileage

2001 crystler town & country fuel pump

The Fuel pump is in the tank. The only thing I disagree with in emissionwiz post is whether to drain the tank or not. Chrysler started putting drains on the tanks in 2000 to make this easier when they went to a plastic fuel tank. I would drain the tank from the drain, disconnect the wiring then drop the tank to replace the pump. This all assumes that you verified that the fuse in the interior panel is not blown and the fuel pump relay in the power distribution box under the hood is still good.

A RECTANGULAR BOX FITTED WITH TWO HOSES IS LOCATED ON THE REAR UNDERCARRIAGE ATTACHED TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE GAS TANK.. IT FELL OFF...WHAT IS IT AND THE POTENTIAL DAMAGE...CAR RUNS GREAT.

This is your evaporation cannister. It stores gas fumes for later use by the engine. The car will run without it, but you are violating HC emission laws with it off. If you need instructions to replace it, please let us know.

My 2000 Lincoln town car has been diagnosed as requiring 02 sensor replacement. Car has 220,000 kilometres on it. Can I continue to drive without replacing the sensor?

Yes you can still drive it. However your gas mileage will drop . Also it wont pass the smog/ emissions test if your state requires one.

Button that says "trac" over the steering colum

for traction control. most vechicles are automatic, puch it it may turn it on or off, if it turns off it should have a light that says traction off. Less drive wheels can make minor improvements to gas mileage as well as not wear other parts as much.
