Re: 99 S-10 Engine hesitates only when warm
If it has miss and hesitation only warm not cold you may have a coolant temp sensor problem . but if the service engine soon light is off i would chek ignition system(plugs, wires ,boots).most likely one of the cylinders missfires when hot.

check first for restricted fuel filter or defective fuel pressure, try plugging the return line of the pressure regulator if it runs ok..replace the regulator but remember not to run the engine for a minute.its just the procedure of testing the regulator..ok?
The EGR valve is closed when the engine is cold and should open when warmed up. Have all componets check to see if they are functiong correctly. Auto Zone provides a free computer scan at no charge . They will avise you what is in need or replacing and how much for the part. These parts are easily installed too
check ur idle air control valve if clogged will not start car this affects emmissions, stalling, hesitation etc.. its located on throttle .has a hose and a couple of plugs or check ur purge valve its on ur throttle also has 3 hoses hooled to it controls vacuum
Hi, this could be something in the fuel pump. As the cold motor draws more fuel, it may just be just ok for the engine, but after it is warm, it draws less and may "suffocate" it that way. Same goes for air filter, take a peek if it is not ready for replacement. Has this happened suddenly, or has it occurrend during a long perion of time?
