Even if it works ( it don't ) I would put a new half shaft on the 93 S-R.

SOURCE: replacing the front axle on a 93 subaru legacy

When I replace the axle halves, I run the Nut off till it is level with the shaft end. THen take a piece of wood and set it across the shaft and hit the wood with a hammer. Usually only takes one or two hits and pops right out. Then I remove the nut and finish removal . Hope this helps, Good luck and have a great day.

How to remove the rear driveshafts on a 93 subaru legacy?

driveshafts as in tailshafts? or axels from diff? if its just the tail shaft, it just has 4 12mm nuts and bolts, one spanner will get it out make sure you dont lose the spring washers and try support it when removing to prevent damage to the centre bearing.

I have a 91 Subaru loyale 4dr sedan. 1.8Engine. I am told that the right CV joint and boot needs replaced. I am having a hard time finding the part and any repair info on it to see if I can do this...

If you get a clicking noise then the joint in the axle is damaged and will require replacement of the axle. The benefit is ease of replacement and they come with new c.v. boots on the inner and outer joint. Replacing the boot and repacking the joint in grease will not eliminate the noise.

Maybe air filter? Low air could cause the o2 sensors to send a code, maybe get the code checked at Autozone, and start there. Maybe Cat Convertor... water in gas, I could guess all night......
