SOURCE: 1993 Chevy 1500 pickup 4-wheel drive

I replaced the malfunctioning “thermal actuator” with the “Warn” Vacuum actuator setup, it’s been working great for about 7 years now, simple install, if I remember correctly, it was about $150.
That’s what engages the front diff into 4wd.

SOURCE: 1998 Chevy S10 front axle will not engage when put into 4 wheel

Normal thing that happens as long as onone (worked) on it, is the vacume hose going to the engage sevevo under the battery box has fell of on either end or is brocken on the way there. Then the once or now leaky battery acid ate up this same servo. then the cable going to the front axel breaks sticks falls off or even someone needing one climbed under your truck while parked somewhere to get one to replace their brokeen one now you don't have one then theaxel engage arm or gearset is damaged

I have a 1991 trooper front wheels not pulling in 4wd I have jacked the car up while in drive and in 4wd front tires turn but can be easly stopped does this vehicle have a limited slip drive? if not what...

Toyota do not normally have a limited slip diff in the front as it creates handling problems and economy problems that most drivers did not want. If you have the front axle jacked up so that both front wheels ore off the ground then both wheels will turn or one will turn more than the other or when you hold one wheel the other wheel goes twice as fast. If all that is happening there is nothing wrong with the diff. . If you have automatic hubs make sure that they are working under load

you need to stop both front wheels from turning to see if 4 wd is working
just stopping one side means nothing as the diff action is operating and making the opposite wheel go faster

4 wheel drive stopped working

the light is on.........let's see, where you having problems with clunking noises in the front, now or before when or not in 4 wheel drive? If so sounds like cv/axle shats/joints. Last time you used 4 wheel, was there a big clunk, just once? Is there an ocasional clunk when going over bumps? If so, sounds like Ujoint. I don't belive chevys use vaccum for 4 wheel drives systems at all.
