First thing that comes to mind is the vac modulator on the side of the transmission. ( if equipped )
The modulator uses engine vac to regulate the shift speeds. If the modulator diaphram fails, it could pull trans fluid into the intake.

I put a liter of transmission treatment in my trany, it would drop out of overdrive when it was hot. This seems to have solved the problem.

Motor is burning transmission fluid. As we're driving down the road, white smoke starts pouring out of the tailpipe.

on the lower part of the transmission on the radiator is a vacuum modulator that probably has a bad diaphram. If you locate it take the hose off and see if trans fluid comes out. if so replace the vacuum modulator. You will still see smoke for awhile until cleans out of the exhaust.

Transmission slipping. does not appear to be shifting properly. replaced ecm. got tcm from jeep grand cherokee same engine (4.7L). notice significant burning/smoke after driving exhaust manifold. not...

U are going to need to overhaul the transmission here, the smoke is the trans overheating from excessive slippage i suspect.code for wrong gear ratio's mean the input and output shaft speed are out of symc for the gear the trans is in, the 3rd or 4th gear is the usual codes, this sometimes is caused by defective speed sensors but most times the trans is slipping and the TCM detects that and sets a code

Engine smokes and burns of oil or something else burning.

if it is the camaro in the pick , they usually leak by the valve cover gaskets, right to the manifolds , that way the smoke and you don;t find the leak because it burns the oil
