My 1984 cadillac eldorado is running too rich


Can't adjust anything-- it is fuel injected

May be able to adjust the TPS Sensor, but
I doubt that will be part of the lean codes
or whatever you have

May have to mail the injectors away to be cleaned
& flow tested

Have to check for OBD1 Codes,first

Have to check,test & possibly replace the oxygen sensor

Have to test the CTS -coolant temp sensor, to make sure it goes
into closed loop & you have control over the fuel delivery

Too lean-- is either a RICH condition being corrected by ecm
or a vacuum leak & thus lean condition

Many other items & reasons as well

You will need vehicle experience with OBD1 Systems
& an understanding of the DFI Fuel System on the caddy
to work on it.

You say running too rich,what testing told you that?
Too lean & being driven rich, so that are the codes you see !
Dirty worn out injectors-too rich
Fuel Pressure regulator failed-too rich

There is good video on rebuilding a throttle body on
You Tube Video, you can watch & see about pressure
regulators & injectors on your type system

Check every vacuum hose in the engine compartment FIRST
for vacuum leaks

Do not forget about worn out & partially blocked exhaust converters
& clogged gas filters,not related maybe, but still have to be working
properly

Engine light on and misfiring and want to fix this and get it running smooth


The cylinder misfires cause lean or rich
fuel trim

A constant lean on fuel trim, is a rich condition
driven lean by pcm to correct

If two cylinder are affected & are together or maybe
not ,then smoke the intake for vacuum leaks

A leaking injector is obviously a rich senerio

Converter only works with the O2 Sesnors to report
back the rich or lean to pcm

You need to get rid of the misfires before any fuel control
returns to normal

to control balance between rich and lean--it sensors the 02 from exhaust and develops a value of the two--too rich and gas burns sooty/too lean and not enuf gas which can create burnt valve-cause gas acts a coolant

I have a 1991 190e and was running on very low gas. Didnt make it to the gas station before it ran out of gas and ever since then it has been burning gas so rich and stalls out at idle or when im at a stop...


sounds like you may have sucked up some trash from your tank you can try several things a can of gas treatment a minor tune up which is changing the plugs and fuel filter you can also try a can of marvel mystery oil pour this in the fuel tank as you would gas treatment if none of this works then you can try a idle speed control sensor or a accelerator pump. hope this gives you some place to start.

I have 3 codes that showed up in the computer of my 1995 Ford Windstar


Here is the first half of the codes look till you find the one you have
111 System PASS.
112 ACT sensor circuit grounded.
113 ACT sensor circuit open.
114 ACT sensor is out of Self-Test.
116 ECT sensor is out of Self-Test.
117 ECT sensor circuit grounded.
118 ECT sensor circuit open.
121 TP sensor is out of Self-Test.
122 TP sensor input is less than Self-Test minimum.
123 TP sensor input is greater than Self-Test maximum.
124 TP sensor input voltage is greater than expected.
125 TP sensor input voltage is less than expected.
128 MAP vacuum hose damaged or disconnected.

95 volvo 940 DL hesitates injector error codes 113, 212, 232


Check the fuse to the injector. If it is out or got wet, it could mimic these conditions. let me know what happens. I have an 85 model.

Idle problem, running very rich


it sounds like the throttle position sensor.
