Rear doors won't open. How do I remove the door panel with door closed?

on most YR, make & models, roll down the window, R/R inner door handle , pop out pwr window switch / pwr lock switch w/ flat screwdriver. R/R Phillips screws from handle (usually 2 top 2 or 3 side screws). slowly work handle out from door, disconnect wiring clips (lock & window). W/ door open, remove panel by unclipping plastic retainers (hold down clips into the door from the back of the panel.) all around BOTTOM of the door. Next pop panel off the top of the side of the door from the top of the door. Same procedure to reinstall just reverse DON'T FORGET TO PLUG THE WIRING IN BEFORE YOU PUT THE HAANDLE BACK ON! THAT'S MORE WORK. GOOD LUCK. PS: IT'S EASIER THAN IT SOUNDS. FRANK fmxtwo@aol.com

How do I change rear axle seal on 1991 dodge Dakota 4×4?

Remove the wheel and tire.

Remove the drum.

Drain the rear and remove the cover.

Locate the 8mm bolt locking in the center pin and remove it.

Slide the pin out 1/2 way. DO NOT SPIN EITHER AXLE WHILE THE PIN IS OUT.

Push the axle in from the outside. You will hear the "c" clip fall in the rear. Put the center pin back in the rear and thread the bolt a couple turns.

Slide the axle out.

Remove the outer seal and install the new one.

Reverse the procedure REMEMBERING to put the "C" clip back in.

(Slide the center pin 1/2 way out. Install the axle FULLY. install the "C" clip and pull the axle from the outside to insure the clip is in. DO NOT SPIN THE AXLE until the center pin is reinstalled and the retaining bolt is in.)

How do I take the window handle to get the door panel off?

there is a C clip that slides over window crank locking it on to the window crank shaft. A strong tool like a dentist pik that has a hook on it works great !! Or a small long flat screw driver, push in on the door panel by the window crank and look between crank and door panel, you will see this clip on the back of handle. push or pull this clip off the handle and the handle will pull off the window crank shaft. keep an eye on this clip as it like to take flying lesson.( wear safety glasses.) When installing clip, install on window crank in the slits or grooves and just push handle onto crank rod. you might have to hit with rubber mallet (TAP TAP ) make sure it locks on.

I am trying to replace the ignition switch on my 1969 chevy c20 2wd pickup. 350 motor. I have loosened the ring, but it will not come all the way off. Any suggestions?

Disconnect the negative battery cable. Turn the switch to the off position. Straighten out a paper clip, and insert the end into the little hole in the front of the switch( might be helpful to put the ring back on for now) Push in on the clip and turn the key toward the accessory position, once the key begins to turn pull the clip out and continue to turn when the key gets all the way back the lock will pop out, then you can unscrew the ring and remove the switch. To reinstall the lock push it in and turn toward the start position.

When try to use key to open car, doesnt open , never had a problem before

There are little plastic clips that hold the rods to the rotating assembly on the back side of your lock. Chances are one of them either broke off or popped out. sometimes they will unclip and just need to be reinstalled. remove your door panel and look in and find the back side of the lock to confirm this. Does the other side work or are they both not working?

How do you take off the window handle on a chev 3500

They make a special tool for this but you don't really need it. At the window handle push the door panel in and look behind the handle (it is tight) there will be a spring "c" clip. All you need to do is take a thin screwdriver and push one side of the clip and it will pop off. Then you can pull handle off. To reinstall put the clip on the handle, you will see slots where it goes. Then push handle back on the clip will spread and recontract by it self to lock the handle back on.

My 95 GMC safari, rear hatch stuck closed on passenger side

You have to crawl in the back remove the panels and find the actuator(s), when you find them check for any linkages the may have fallen off. Gm uses little clips that get brittle and break. if it is a clip reinstall rod with a new clip or reinstal rod and secure with mechanics wire.

If the actuator is broken you can hook up a volt meter to the pin outs and test for power by hitting the door lock unlock button. If there's power then chamces are that the actuator is faulty. if theres no power check ground connections fuses relays and re test. good luck

Leaking left rear wheel seal.

Loosen differential cover and let oil drain. Remove cover, remove E clip lock from axel. Pull axel out. Remove bearing seal. Install new seal and reinstall axel. Reinstall E clip lock and new cover gasket. Fill with 75-90wt gear oil. Now I know that sound pretty straight forward. But there are some things to remember. The E clip lock can be difficult to remove sometimes. The most important thing is the seal, you will need to make sure it gets seated correctly and not torn when installing axel
