After having my battery recharged and installed again my security lights kept flashing. l turned the key on and off. That stopped it. I went to start it! It ran for 3 seconds and shut off. It kept doing this. Now it sounds like the started isnt clicking anymore. By the way I also have a car starter in it. Could that be the problem?

Mercury Mountaineer 2000 clicks while trying to start, turns over good with jump box but still wont start?

This engine is computer controlled, so when it stalled out the computer will almost always set fault code(s) for the problem if it is a component like a crank sensor or other device, if the engine failed in some strictly mechanical way then no code or codes may be present. You need to have the system scanned (diagnostic connector under the dash drivers side) for fault codes as a first step toward repair.

I have a mercury mountaineer 2002 awd 4.6litre that stalled without warning and now wont start, it also turns over like a low battery but had battery and alternator checked at two different places bo

Its a possibility but I would think the fuel pump? That's where I would start. If it turns but doesn't crank then your most likely not getting gas.

Battery light on, got new alt., starter tries to engage, but doesnt

Did you have the charging system diagnosed or did you just guess at it being the alternator . The charging system is computer controlled . The starter isn't working because low power , battery dead . Is there B+ voltage at the wire on the back of the alternator .B+ voltage at pin 3 at the connector pluged into the alternator .
Charge the battery use a volt meter an test for B+ voltage at the places i mention . No check engine light ? DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes stored .

I have a 04 tribuite w/3.0 v6. The batt light started to flash. I installed a new batt. Light still flashed. Alt was changed 4 times, and light still flashes. What eles is there to check?

So is the alternator charging or not? If not, find out why. 4 times? where are you getting parts? I would only buy parts from the dealer for this car. You need to have th ecar "scanned" and see if there are any trouble codes related to the charging system.
