Question about 1997 Ford Taurus
Check your Inertia switch. This is a push button reset and can be behind the front kickpanels or on the side of the trunk. It is for safety and sometimes disconnects the fuel pump.
Lack of spark. There is a relay for the EEC and the fuel pump located in the Powerbox.
A scanner can diagnose some of these problems. Scans are free at Autozone, Advance, and Oreilys but your car won't move. But some parts have to get power from the Relays to even record a problem.
You can check for fuel pressure at the test port and borrow a gauge to do it. But having fuel on the test port only shows there is pressure and does not mean the fuel injectors are working. To test the injectors you need a Noid tester or a 12V multi tester.
So at this point you have checked spark, checked fuel pressure, and checked the fuel injectors. There are other issues, but you would need to tear into the motor.
