Question about 2001 Dodge Dakota
Both rear brake and turn signal lights are not working (regular tail lights are working). Turn signal on dash flashes rapidly. I've checked the bulbs and the fuse.
Sorry to hear about the problematic lights. I've seen this many times at the Chrysler dealership and at independent shops as well. If what you say is true, the only cause can be a faulty turn /signal switch. The brake lights go through that switch too, if you weren't aware. Keep troubleshooting and your lights will still be out; until you buy that switch. You can sometimes find a good one at a salvage yard if they are as pricey as I remember. If you buy a used one, be sure to get a warranty in case it's just as worn out as yours! The switch has long curvy copper contacts inside it, and when the mechanism itself wears out, it's known to do just what you've described here. If all your feeds, fuses, and wiring are in good working order, as you say they are, ( and I believe you) I'm 99 percent sure your switch is the only part at fault. Hope you got the answer in a timely fashion, good luck on the switch.

Did you check the bulbs in the front as well? Any one of the 4 bulbs will cause this to happen.
you can also check the relay in the fuse box,To locate just turn blinkers on and listen at the fuse box and you will hear it clicking.

The turn signal flashing faster than normal is just because one of the bulbs is not turning on, this cause the relay ticking faster then normal.
The reason why indicator light and brake light are not working is probably a lose wiring.
Check first that the bulbs are OK, also check the fuse. If fuse and bulbs are fine, then you will need to test the wirings.

If it flashes rapidly you do indeed have a bulb burned out... replace them with known good bulbs... also check the ground wires on both sides from the sockets
