Most Vacuum lines are available at Autoparts stores. They are sold by the diameter and length. They are a few which are special silicone based products for extremely high heat and usually available at Dealers.

You can splice the hoses with metal lines or some plastic connectors. This is particularly helpful if the hose ends are molded fittings. Some Vacuum lines are thin plastic; for them a larger Vacuum hose placed over the broken original line will patch it.

What diverts air to defrost. Air comes out vents and floor. ac works and heat , but won't go up to dash vents. The flaps are working.

You just THINK the flaps are working, but apparently the top vent is not. These multiple flaps are controlled by vacuum and you have a line off to that particular flap. This means the flap won't open and the vacuum leak, whether you can hear it or not, is making you lose MPG also, though slight. The vacuum line could be cracked or disconnected from the flap or at the vacuum block on the back of the lever unit.

Car blows cold air then sometimes hot when excelerating can tell there is loss of power

You could have a bad (broken) vacuum line going to the dashboard area from the engine compartment. These cars use vacuum to open and close the flappers under the instrument panel that control the heat and cooling air routing. The heater controls on the dash usually just open and close valves that route vacuum to the vacuum motors that move the flappers. I had a bad vacuum line under the hood on my '95 mustang last summer. The A/C wouldn't cool the passenger compartment even though the compressor was doing fine and the fluid lines from it were cold. The vacuum line break was on the firewall in the engine compartment. It was real obvious once I figured out what to look for. That could also explain the loss of power. If there is a vacuum leak anywhere in the car, lots of other things that use vacuum don't work right either, including the engine computer etc. Also, the engine could be running lean if a vacuum line is broken, The engine is sucking extra air in through the broken vacuum connection and reduces fuel/air mix robbing you of power. The faster you run the engine, the worse it will be.

Vent selection not working After the transmission was rebuilt

They are controlled by vacuum ... a line must have been disconnected or broken when the trans was replaced. Remove the dog house and look for a small vacuum line broken or pulled apart.

I would check the vacuums under the hood going to the firewall, make sure the vacuum is continual ,look for colasped vacuum lies,or broken vacuum lines,or a check valve in a vacuum line that is near the firewall that is broken or not working.

I have a 1994 jeep cherokee 4.0 . when heater is in hot or cold position it allways blows out of the defrost. any one can help

This is a vacuum problem. Under the hood on the pass. side by the firewall there is a vacuum line that feeds the heater doors. This line is either disconnected or broken. These cars also have a vacuum resoivor that stores vacuum, this could be broken or leaking vacuum.
