Keyless Remote 2008 RAV4

The Keyless Entry Remote is losing power. I think the battery needs to be changed. It is a 2008 Toyota RAV4. It does not have keyless start, only the entry feature. Can I do this myself? What size battery does it use?
Thanks

You can take it back to the dealer, and have them change the battery, or go to Autozone, buy the battery and do it yourself. They can show you how to do it. And which battery it takes. It's not hard to do. Good luck.

I have an adiovox car starter and keyless entry and the remote buttons are falling off that I have to tape them. Is there any way I can get a new one. I just bought a car from another owner and I don't...

Contact the manufacture (Audiovox) and see if you can purchase a replacement. They may even have where you can buy directly from their web site.

Can you add keyless entry to 2008 toyota yaris

I went to a business that installs keyless entry, alarms, and stereo's and they told me for about $250 they could add a a keyless entry with alarm to our 2008 Yaris. Our Yaris has automatic locks not manual locks...so that might be the deciding factor.

Keyless remotes won't work after battery change.

Remote has to be reprogramed. Look in owners for proceedure. If you don't have a manual call the dealer. May have to take vehicle to them to reprogram it with a scantool

Can not lock car by key remote . toyota rav 4 53 plate

If your car has an alarm with a separate remote, it is a separate system and it is probably self-arming. When you lock the doors with the key central lock, the alarm gets armed by the RAV4 being OFF and the door locking action. When you unlock the doors with the key, the alarm is still armed because the key is not comunicating with the alarm just the cars factory keyless system.

Keyless Entry Key Doesn't Work

Regarding the remote transmitter issue: Take the remote transmitter to your Toyota dealer. Ask them to test your transmitter with their hand-held RF detector. All Toyota dealers are required to have one of these devices. The RF detector will test the remote to see if it is indeed transmitting the proper RF out of the transmitter, and the strength of the RF signal. If there is no signal, the remote has failed (unfortunatly common), and the remote will need to be replaced and reprogrammed to the vehicle. I do this quite regularly, and rarely do I tell customers taht they need to spend 800 dollars for such a simple diagnosis/fix. The keyless system is very reliable. I rarely change the ECU for the keyless, unless somebody somehow gets the ECU wet, then it def needs replaced. Hope this helps.
