Question about 2004 Ford E250
My sterring column is messed upo I had to rig it upo to have a switch for the wipers and turn signals. I cannot figure out what is wrong cannot affored to replace the column they want $300.00 for a column brand new and I do not want to go to the junk yard not sure if I will get a good one. I put a new alternater and fuel pump and I still have to charge the batter daily. I put all new fuses in it and still blowin fuses
You have a short somewhere im your wireing i would start with any groung that you may have made when u did your rigging and then go through all your wires and make sure none of them are wore down and touching any metal

I found the problem YEAH. It was the fuse that is in the side of the fuse box under the hood, Its where the battery wire from the alternator connects thru a fuse to go to the battery, Its one hundred and something volt fuse. It took care of the problem instantly.... Thank you all for your replies...

I will try to help you. You are correct about the starting fluid, if it has fire starting fluid should do something. So the problem must be either no fire to the plugs or the timing belt is broke.
Check to see if the plugs have spark. If they do not, then get with the Autoparts store and ask if your car needs a Ignition relay to run. Then ask if your car takes a rubber timing belt. If your car does not have a rubber timing belt try the Ignition relay. If you do have a rubber belt check behind the shield in front of the engine to see if the timing belt is broke.
The timing belt is different than the serpetine belt that drives the pulleys. Cars with rubber timing belts have both belts. Should your timing belt be broken it is not an expensive repair. But you will need to details on replacement of that part.

I have the same exact problem. First thing I did was replace the battery. Still having problem. Alternator charges then, an hour later the battery is dead. I was at a stoplight and suddenly the air amd radio quit for a couple of seconds, the volt meter hit bottom, then kicked back in and everything worked again. Turned the car off, started it back up. Parked, went inside, came back out, battery dead. New battrery, Good alternator, could it be the regulator shorting out? do they have regulators anymore?
