SOURCE: My 2000 hyundai tiburon keeps overheating. I've

With the motor cold, I would remove the drive belt and try to turn the water pump pulley by hand. It should move freely and only make a gurgling noise like water moving inside the motor but should not make any metal on metal noise if it's working properly. This is likely your cause. The water will only weap out of the pump when the shaft of the pump is turning thus the intermmittent leak when you park.

Also the radiator cap was probably removed to perform the leak check but you have to inspect the radiator cap itself. If the o-rings in the cap are worn you could lose pressure in the system and even though you might not see the liquid coming from the cap it could be shooting out through a rubber hose near the cap. If the water pump checks out I would try a new radiator cap.

SOURCE: overheat 2001 hyundai tiburon

Only 2 parts remaining are the thermostat and waterpump. Always start with the thermostat when diagnosing an overheating problem. If the car is overheating constantly under all conditions and coolant is backing up into the reservoir, it's very likely to be the thermostat. If it only overheats at low speed or idling, it's more likely the waterpump.

SOURCE: I have a 1999 Hyundai Tiburon. When driving the car is overheating but when idling the temperature drops. Thought that sounded backwards. The radiator and the fan motor have been replaced already. Cou

Thermostats will stick sometimes. Most are made to open at certain temperatures. In some cases brand new thermostats fail. Try replacing it its pretty cheap probably no more the 10-15 dollars for the part it self its an easy fix also.

Fan does not work on 2003 hyundai tiburon

Radiator fan or AC fan? If its the radiator fan, you need first to check if its motor us OK. You can do this by hardwiring the electricl plug directly to the battery. Motor should run. If it doesn't, then this motor (fan) needs replacement.

If the motor runs fine when hardwiring, then you should have the car scanned for error codes. It is probably that the ECT (engine coolant temp sensor) is bad, thus the ECM never gets the signal "hey, I'm getting hot, turn on the radiator fan!"

Wait till the engine is cold, remove the radiator cap, start engine and look for coolant gushing out of radiator or a lot of bubbles, its possible you have a blown head gasket.

Replaced thermostat, radiator, fans kick on, changed catylatic converters, still over heats

The catalytic converter probably has nothing to do with the problem. Either the replacement thermostat is bad, or the there's something plugging your cooling system. Have you tried a radiator flush?

My guess is trapped air in the cooling system. If the cooling system was just filled with antifreeze without bleeding the air, it could cause sporadic overheating. It could also be the cooling fan not coming on at high speeds. Next time the temperature rises, turn on the defroster for th front windshield. That should cause the air conditioner to come on, which in turn will turn on the cooling fan. If the temperature drops, I would suspect the cooling fan sensor is faulty.

I need to know where thermostat goes in my 2000 tibron?

You should be able to follow one of the large lines from the radiator to the thermostat housing. The housing is on the drivers side of the block. One of the large hoses from the radiator goes directly into the thermostat housing.

Be sure not to damage the wires to the collant temperature sensor when removing the thermostat housing.
