Nope - only Ford products have inertia switches. And when they are off they stay off.
Have you checked the fuel pump relay and the ASD relay ?

Hit a hard pothole with 2003 Jeep grand cherokee laredo. Immediately stopped. Fuel pump inertia switch?

Never heard of this switch in the fuelpump circuit. Remove the fuel cap and listen if you can hear the pump when you switch ignition on. The pump will run for 3 seconds when you don't start. Hitting the pothole can have dislodged many things, from relays and connectors to a line.

I was in a wreck where i was hit on the drivers side passenger door. Now car not getting gas. I have a 2002 jeep grand cherokee. I was told about an auto shut off and I need to resset it. Any ideas?

check to see if when u turn the key on if you can hear the fuel pump kick on (dont try to start) if u can hear the pump turn on its not the fuel shut off, if the pump is turning on i would check the fuel line to make sure they are not damaged or kinked and the fuel filter housing, also on the top of the motor where the fuel line come up to the motor there is a fitting under a cap that looks just like the valve on your tires turn your key on and u can push the center of that valve down and if u have presure it will sprey fuel be careful. hope this helps

Where is the fuel pump inertia switch located on a 1998 Cherokee?

there isnt one. if the fuel pump does not run, ck the ASD and FUEL PUMP RELAYS. Turn the key on and listen real close to the fuel tank, see if you can hear it come on the 2 seconds, Sometimes you can rap on the tank with a mallet or board when cranking, and this will knock it loose, it that gets it running you will need to replace the fuel pump.
