Question about 2004 Volkswagen Passat 1.8
The easiest thing to check is the fuses. The fuse panel is at the far right side of the dash, accessible when the drivers door is wide open. If all your fuses look good- check the bulbs in the rear lights. I've seen them all go out at about the same time in a few cars. Let us know if that helps.
