Question about 1995 Dodge Neon
I am wondering how to replace a rear window that has shattered. The car is 13 years old, so I don't want to put a lot of money into it by having a glass company install a new window. Am hoping to find a good rear window from a salvage yard & install it myself, but I have never replaced windows before, so have no idea where to begin. Also, the current one has rear window defogger. Does it have to be replaced with a defogger window, or a clear window, without the defogger?
Alternately, how can I get the old one out & put heavy duty sheet plastic in place of the window, should I not be able to find a used window? I'm assuming the trim pops out, somehow, but don't want to damage it in the process, because I did something wrong. Thanks for any help you might be able to offer!
Ummm yeah. Hes pretty much right on all of it. ALL neons have defogger rear windows. They do not come without them, thats how they all are. as for the windshield urethane, that works wonders. Theres also a roll of this stuff that you outline the window frame in, then let it sit in the sun and heat up, then you place the window in it. You only get one chance tho cos once the windows place, your not gonna be able to pop it back out haha. I'm not too sure what this stuff is called, but if you goto your local auto parts store, they will know what your talking about.

First yes you need a backwindow with the defroster because of the open wiring call a salvage yard in your area they have them or they can find one for make sure you clean the edges very good and you must use windsheild urethane comes out like a caulking gun make sure their are not any places where there is any bubbling or air pockets. Please rate my response thankyou very much
