Sterring column worn out 1989 silverado 4 wheel

The best option is related to the actual damage on the unit which needs a good observation and check. If the bushes are worn out on the column then this can be overhauled at a machine shop. If the damage is more then there best way is to replace to give you the best performance.
Also the spares for the steering ends, joints and linkages must be checked to be free of any PLAY or SHAKE.
Thank You for using Fixya.

Does a Ford Festiva 1989 have a Power Steering Pump

It does if it has power steering. They came both ways. Power steering is pretty easy to tell if you have it or not. If you don't have it, you will need two hands for sure to park the car in a tight spot, the steering wheel is quite hard to turn compared to other cars with power steering.

Convert manual steering to power steering

Hello, it is possible to add power steering, because the Festiva has a power steering option from the factory. You could find the parts from a salvage yard and have them put on, but my best guess is that it would cost you too much money. Although, Festivas are such good cars, it might be worth the money. A friend of mine added air conditioning to her Festiva and it cost $800, which is about how much you can buy a whole used car for if you're lucky. A typical mechanic would probably charge you about $500 to get the parts and put them on and that's being conservative. Many people who have Festivas do the work themselves because the hourly labor rate of many shops is from $85/hour and up and putting all that power steering equipment on would be at least half a day job and many parts would have to be changed in the steering.

Alternator belt replacement of 1989 Toyota pickup truck . there are 2 belts to get past before we can replace the alternator belt. How is best to remove first two belts.

Start with the power steering belt it takes a 12 mm socket for the bolt in the power steering . also loosen the bolt on the power steering pump pulley. remove the radiator lower fan shroud. It just clips in. pull the power steering belt around the fan and out of the engine compartment then do the a/c belt. That is the best way I know how.

Power Steering

On the motor somewhere (probably the top, front) There will be a black cap.  It will be on top of a reservoir and it will say POWER STEERING FLUID (unless it has wore off)  The front of your motor will be where all the belts are (probably the passenger side).  The cap will have a dip stick attached more than likely.  The dip stick should have two markings on it for HOT  and COLD.  Use these two markings to make sure the fluid is filled up to at least the cold mark.  If not check your owners manual for the proper type of power steering fluid and add a little at a time checking every so often to see if it's full.
Any questions just ask...Please rate....Thanks!

1989 jeep cherokee leaks steering fluid but i can t find the leak anywhere

The First thing that you need to do is, Get some Degreaser of Some Kind and Clean the Power Steering Pump and Hoses Very Well. Then Start your Car and Move the Steering Wheel all the way from Side to Side and Check the Pump and Hoses. You should be able to Locate the Leak this way. Let me know what You Find out! Please Rate My Response! Thanks!
