Battery removal How do I take out the battery in my 2006 Chevy Cobalt?

I knew the battery was in the trunk, but I also saw additional wires besides the postive and negative cables. I wasn't sure what to do with them.

I did loosen the spare tire and moved it so it would prop up the trunk floor covering which hides everything. That allowed me more room and freed up my hands. I used a 13mm to unsecure a strap which holds the battery in place. Then I was able to wiggle the battery away from the bumper-side of the trunk. (The battery is tucked under some plastic housing and I couldn't reach the negative cable.) I was then able to use a 10mm to take off the battery cables. I took off the negative first, then the positive. Make sure you don't let the cables touch anything metal.

Thanks for responding, you definitely got me started!

SOURCE: how to adjust headlights on 2006 chevy cobalt

There will be adjustment screws located on at least two different spots surrounding each headlamp. By turning these screws you move the angle of the headlamp. Most shops will do this at a very resonable rate, I say this because improper headlamp angle may lead to a ticket, or at least a warning. To say the least, they have to be at specific angles and heights. Good luck.

SOURCE: 2006 chevy cobalt - door won't open

Start with the basics. Check the fuses (all of them) with a test light and be sure you have power to each and that they are good. Then be sure that the power lock relay is good by swapping it with another relay in the fuse block. If the fuses are good and the relay is swapped and the locks still aren't functioning, you may have an issue with the BCM. The BCM can be programmed to change the behavior, but if the car has had water damage, or other stress to the BCM (voltage, heat, etc.), it can sometimes damage the BCM and you will need to replace it and reprogram it at a GM dealership.

Fault with the IAC valve.there maybe a trouble code associated with it also./ Go to your nearby autozone or auto parts retailer and ask them to put a scanner to the car....make note of the codes if any are found. the IAC valve i usually locate don the throttle body and can be removed for inspection and sometimes cleaning using a good throttle body cleaner spray and a pipe cleaner brush.

2006 chevy cobalt LT. the key is stuck

Have you tried shifting the gears completely through and then putting the car in park. It sounds like the car isn't able to be put completely in park to release the key. Try putting the car in N and removing the key. Even thought the car may not completely be in park to release the key, The gear most likely is in park but not enough to make the switch/sensor to release.

I replaced the car battery in my 2006 chevy cobalt now the keyless entry doesn't work.

check all the fuses inside the car. the new battery could have surged and blew a fuse which would cause the key less entry sensor in the car to stop.
